Schill had the better 2004 season, Pedro had the better career.
Pedro's 1999 season is comparable to Gibson's 1968 season.
Actually Pedro's 2000 season was just as good or better, how the hell did he lose six games that season?

Putting aside my Yankee bias here, Schill was an outstanding playoff pitcher, he also has an outstanding career ratio (WHIP).
His lifetime ERA is very good compared to the league averages also.
How come only 216 career wins?
If you take away those three 20 win plus seasons of his, his 20 year career is a little better than run of the mill.
Don't take my word for it, take away those three seasons.

Compare his career with Mussina's.
If one should go to the hall, the other should also.

Personally, if I had a Hall vote, I'd be on the fence with both of them.

Moose 270-153 3.68

Pitched in the AL East his entire career. He's a slam dunk HOFer. They can't even use the "he never won 20 games" BS against him anymore.

I dont know how many remember this, but Red Sox and Yankees both wanted Mussina when he was a free agent.

He signed with Yankees, Red Sox signed Manny Ramirez as a free agent with the money they would have given Mussina.

I think Schill is a borderline HOF'er at best. 216 victories over 20 seasons...that's 10.8 wins a year.

If you're looking for HOF, see Greg Maddux - 350 victories, see Tom Glavine - 300 victories and see John Smoltz - 200 victories AND 150 saves.

I was watching local news and Schill doesnt think he will get in. But he says he is happy that his team mates would give him the ball to win a game if their life depended on it.

Pedro in his prime was just rediculous. No pitcher has amazed me like him until I saw some Koufax clips on youtube.

The speed and movement Pedro got on his pitch was just silly.

Martinez made the ball sit, roll over and play dead at his will.

Just think how much better Pedro would have been if he got to face Pitchers instead of DH's, if the mound was a foot higher and was in a pitchers park. Koufax couldnt carry Pedros jock.

First off, you can't compare those two eras.
Second off, you're insane, look at Koufax's last four seasons, he won 25, 19, 26, and 27 games, with ridiculous ratios, and ERA's at 2.00 and under for those four seasons.
Koufax won the Cy Young award 3 of those 4 seasons, a league MVP and was runner up for MVP two other times.
Pedro strung two consecutive seasons like that, Koufax four consecutive.

To say Koufax could'nt carry Pedro's jock is so wrong, borderline ignorant.

No...it's not borderline ignorant...it's full-blown, no-holds-barred, stupidity of youth ignorant...

Anyone of a certain age, and believe me I'm of that age, who saw Koufax pitch will tell you that, in his prime, brief though it was, Koufax was one of the greatest pitchers (left handed or right handed) in the history of the game.

As good as Pedro was, nobody talkes about him of being one of the greatest of all time.

In 1966 Sandy Kofax made 41 starts, the Dodgers scored 606 runs for him.
Do the math, that's 1.5 runs a game in run support.
He won 27 games.
Digest that for a moment.
Your team scores a run and a half for you on average a game, and you win 27 times.

Seven times, Koufax's team scored 1 or 0 runs for him.

In seven World Series starts, Koufax had a 0.95 ERA.
