JC: I could perhaps answer that if I had a clue as to what your point is!
The point of posting this topic was to see the reaction - and I have. Instead of people for the most part saying something like, 'yeah, damn, Castro hasn't changed his ways', or more like what San Jose said concerning the fact that those people were just trying to escape a regime that in the end killed them like that, it's been turned around on the US, for Christ's sake!
Isn't it possible for ONE of you to admit that this is pretty damn bad, without having to resort to slinging shit at the US? Is EVERYTHING that occurs in non-US countries to you impossible to judge on its face without instead again castigating the US? Or, is everything across this planet explicable in some way because of an action or inaction by the US?
There seems to be very little exchanging of ideas in this forum, or at least small agreements. I have agreed several times with certain points, and Lander and I pretty much agree on most things EXCEPT whether this particular war was justified - if he thought it was, he'd hold similar beliefs concerning civilian casualties and other issues that I've expressed.
If all this forum exists to do is serve as a 'I told you so!' or a 'I'm smarter than you!' or a 'I'm better than you' jerk-off society, then what the hell is the point of trying to discuss anything? I have and I know most of you must have better things to do with my/our time than sit around and try to think up the next incredibly clever repartee to sling back in response. Matter of fact, I'm heading off to do one of those better things (no, it ain't jerking off!), so I'll see you characters tomorrow.
