Not a bad idea
Anthem has nothing to do with sports
I'm sure his reasoning was stupid virtue signaling anti-American bullshit though

It’s probably not a bad idea .
But I’m sure his reasoning had nothing to do with why it’s a good idea .

National anthems began to be played during WW2 during baseball games .
It was not done before that and it just ended up being something they never stopped doing .

In the weeks after World War II ended, NFL Commissioner Elmer Layden ordered all the teams in the league to play the anthem.

Kinda like the Yankees have been signing God Bless America during the 7th inning ever since 9-11

I guess people are going to wonder why they do that 50 years from now .

How many of you people sing the national anthem before you start work every day ?

Quite dated by about 20 years + but when I went to school. The pledge stop being sung after elementary school (6th grade).

I don't think the National Anthem would be missed at regular old sporting events. Maybe just save it for bigtime events. It would be even more special.

Side note: after seeing "Pledge of Allegiance" written a few times in this thread, something seems wrong with that phrase to me. Seems like it's something Hitler or the communists would institute. Seriously, pledging allegiance and being forced to sing it everyday at a young age.

Oh no.

NOT the National Anthem.

How dare they

Usually half of any stadium crowd is in the bathroom, getting food or drink, talking to a friend, or trying to get into the stadium when the anthem is played but i'm sure MANY will make a big deal out of it

I remember when Kaepernick took a knee during the National Anthem at NFL games a lot of people were saying we should take politics out of sports. Those people will appreciate this, as it is a big step in the direction they want.

There are other people who think we should keep politics in sports, and that it must only be the politics they agree with. Those people will be bothered by this.

Are there any people who want diverse political voices in sports, including ones they disagree with? If there are, they might have a problem with this decision. But I don't think people like that exist.

Okay doing business with China despite their concentration camps where women have been tortured and raped with batons forced into their vaginas

• Not okay with the national anthem for the country that made him a billionaire playing before NBA games
Says a lot.

It actually says very little. It says that he is a business man first. And that's about it.

Playing the Anthem is not political.

-Mark Cuban has hired performers to play the National Anthem for his business quite a lot over the years. Something I don't think you have ever done. You can't even capitalize National Anthem.

-You do business with China, by buying products made there.

What does that say about you?
