IMO Croatia is lucky to be here. Germans played horrible, and Austria outplayed them. Can't speak to the polish game as I didn't watch.

They have not looked like the team coming into the tournment. They played great in qualifiers and so far they have not impressed. Given their best striker & possibly best player is missing, in knockout game, I would bet against them.

Turkey on the other hand played decent against Portugal, and outplayed both Czechs & Swiss. Plus they've had all sorts of luck and good karma going, and I think this will see them through this round atleast. There is always one team in every tournament that plays over their heads and gets all the bounces. IMO Turkey this is team.

Turkey 2-0.

oh come on. yes, they played poorly against austria but were fantastic against both germany and poland (the latter with their b team).
neither germany nor poland played great against austria either ... maybe
they were better than folks gave them credit for, plus they were at home.
they took the play to germany and poland all night long and the score could have been way more tilted in their favour (da silva is missed).
i just don't think "lucky" is anywhere near the word. these performances were ball-control clinics. germany trailed 2-1 and for the last nine minutes they couldn't even get the ball off them. that's telling ...

i'm playing cro on this one. they're the superior team with ease.
the only concern is their knack for playing great against "name" teams, and not "great" against non-"name" teams.

Read on another forum a psychic is predicting Croatia gets screwed by the ref and doesn't advance to the semi's. Apparently this psychic foretold of Eduardo's leg break and Croatia's easy passage to the knockout stage.

Was even mentioned that this ref who did Croatia in would be tall and skinny. Italian Roberto Rosetti kind of fits the bill...

Well putting this aside I don't see a lot of chances for Turkey. Croatia have looked quite solid and Turkey really haven't. Great comeback the other night but if Cech holds on (punches away, whatever) the Turkish aren't playing today.

You word it as if psychics are a separate people. We all have the capability to learn these skills. So yes I believe in these abilities.

Unfortunately most who brag about this aren't reliable and are only doing it for financial gain or another self interest.

Crotia is most likely the better team but not by much. +340 on the ML is too good of odds to pass up.

I'm on Turkey because I think they have a good chance of winning and at those odds, absolutely.

folks i gotta say its almost the same situation as yesterday like portugal vs germany. i've watched every game in this tournament. it is absolutely irrelevant to say turkey didnt play well in their first game, or got lucky vs the czechs, etc. turkey is a very solid team right now equipped with a few world class footballers, the same goes with the croats too. i believe turkey's attacking football will get to the croats and they will fold. look for altintop to put one home today, he is a terror out there, love watching him play. took the dog germany yesterday, taking the dog turkey today...turkey 3-1

There is a class difference betweeen Germany as a dog and Turkey as one, can't put these two in same boat.Turkey will have serious issues today defending and Croetia can hit them pretty nice letting the turks posses the ball and in few counter attacks get the job done.Croetia had shown they know to defend too,i don't believe they will beat Germany again but today they will advance,Turkey's best chance is hoping for overtime/pk.I thought to stay away yesterday but seeing so many injuries /suspensions on Turkish end cause me to start thinking of Croetia seriously for today.

I don't see how this is the same situation like yesterday. Turkey is no Germany, thats for sure. And why would Croatia "fold" to Turkey's attacking football, this notion is absurd. It would be a minor miracle if Turkey found the net three times today.

Turkey hasn't impressed me (besides their great show of character). Coming from behind twice to beat a couple mediocre sides after being bossed by Portugal doesn't inspire me here. The losses of Servet, Aurelio and Volkan only makes their slim chances even worse. I mean Volkan to me is very shaky, I don't want to know whats behind him.

Croatia is the real deal. They have the right balance of defensive solidity and attacking creativity.

Turkey have been behind in all three games they have played. If not for a deflected goal vs the swiss and a dropped ball vs the Czechs then they would already be out. Turkey have great team spirit but Croatia can even match them in this department.

On another point. If you ever find Italy or Germany as dogs in knout out games then play them. They will win more than they lose in that situation. The only reason I didnt bet Germany yesterday is that my wife is portuguese and I felt guilty placing the bet. Damn!

Funny

Btw i just checked lines for that game and it seems that Turkish Bookies offer on Croetia the lowest line anywhere as favorites..is it to make all locals back their country or is it because they have no faith in their own NT?there a Turkish friend showed that to me ,

Just 1.6 (-170) on Croetia ..take it for what its worth.

Agree w/ your opinion, HPark.

Now, as for this match, I agree w/ most that Croatia should advance. I am just not sure they do it in regular time. And Turks do seem to be blessed w/ good fortune:missingte. I am not impressed w/ Croatian back line or forward line for that matter but they have managed to acquire 9 pts. from the group stage. No play for me. I will wait till tomorrow.

Why don't you say any of Croatia's success is due to luck? They were outplayed by Austria, and really should have lost. They lose that game and most likely they don't even advance past the group stage. So was Turkey a little lucky to beat the Czech? Yeah, a bit (although you can't do that stuff without talent), but Croatia was a little lucky to advance as well. Also, the Germany team Croatia beat was not the Germany team we all saw beat Portugal today. The Germans played very poorly against Croatia, and that was partly from taking them too lightly. They do have a lot of talent, so if you don't give them your best effort you will most likely lose. Turkey is the underdog here so you know they'll give their best effort.

This is going to be a close game. If Turkey can hang around all it takes is a good bounce or two and they could be moving on to the semis.

Croatia and Germany are playing down to their opponents. I believe this is deliberate. When they need a win to advance they have the talent to do it.

I can't say the same thing for Turkey since they don't have the talent that Croatia and Germany have.
