It's easy to say in hindsight that the Rangers need Avery tonight. However, I don't know how you can justify keeping that guy in the lineup when he has not contributed a single point, while piling up 24 penalty minutes. Nobody on the team will talk to him, and you can bet that there were few, if any, complaints when the decision was made. I don't really see where Avery makes a difference in this game...

Without Avery the Rangers don't even make the playoffs.
WITH him in the lineup his team is up 3-1 and in control of the series.
