Great topic.

I was wondering if you could name the top 5 scams at the RX? I think you could include yourself in all 5 Journeyscum.

RX team would MURDER the women - not even close. men win by 2B digits - and a healthy 2B digit margin at that.

i am 6'1", 185 and can hoop it up here with the best of them. i play hoops with the guys 2-3 tiems a week (when i am not reffing my ass off - as i am now) and my guys would give those husky women a game - and i am one of the youngest at 39.

Jman, you were WAY past due for a "who gives a fukk\where in the hell did that question come from\wtf is he talking about" thread.

You never cease to amaze me. Since it's blown, why don't you just ditch the "scorekeeper" ID?

I was talking to Anderson Hunt yesterday, former college and highschool All american, we basically agreed that if Taurasi was the Rebels point guard instead of Blassinggame, the Rebels men team would be much better off. Diane is a prolific scorer and tremendous passer, she has a quick release and doesnt make bad decisions, she has made 3 of the best 10 passes I have seen the last decade, the other 7 belong to Yao Ming and Scott Skiles.

I know what I can do ......I would just need some help from a few of you other couch~potatoes in beating a top female squad...

Vini said if best above...they wouldnt be able to compete with a group of above average guys physically. A group of guys with decent leaping ability would patrol the boards, and this is the area the women would have no chance. Vini, I dont even think you need guys 6'4 or better.....even shorter with decent physical strength and leaping ability would be too much for them to handle. I know what you mean J~Man when some people underestimate a good female squad, because they can play, but the gender difference is just too much. A few years ago, I played a game of 4 on 4, and one of the opponents was a female college player. I felt it was a no~win situation, because if I schooled her, I looked bad....and if I layed off, I also looked bad. Turned out I took it easy on her at first, until my teamates got on my Azz, then I had to go to work.......

Any of the USA Today Top 25 HS boy's teams would kick the shit out of ANY of the top women's college teams.... no contest. Any college team that Diane Taurisi could start at point guard for should disband... Rail, put down that crack pipe and seek help. If you think Taurisi could compete against college men you know less about athletics than I give you credit for. Just because she's from SoCal don't mean she's the female Jesus. Taurisi hasn't even been selected for the women's 2004 Olympic team yet.

Yes. I think people are overrating the skill of top-tier female athletes. The Canadian women's national team in hockey (Olympic champions etc.. essentially the best women's hockey team in the world) practiced against Midget AA boys teams to prepare for the Olympics (very good 15-16 year old guys). That says it all. In any sport where strength and quickness matter (hockey, basketball, soccer, football, etc..) even the best women have no chance against good males.

i don't know if i agree. i went to a mac school that had a respectable women's team. they made the ncaa women's tourney 2 of the 4 years i was there.

i played pickup ball almost everyday at the rec center and consider myself an average hoops player. i was in a game once where the average skill level was about the same as me...maybe a bit higher. a starting guard for the women's team got in the game and was completely shut down.

she could knock down an open jumpshot but that was it. could not guard anybody, could not create a shot, could not breakdown the defense and dish the ball, could not come close to a rebound.

now, i realize that uconn is better than the mac teams but, if they played say a good chicago public high school men's team, they'd get smoked.

a good public chicago high school team would smoke the womens Olympic team !

I will admit my stamina to run up and down a regulation court isn't what it was though

lol J~Man.....naaaaaa, your test is still ok. All you would need is to spend about 2 weeks with me in advance and you'd be running up and down that court like you were , well..........Me!
icon_biggrin.gif
Was gonna say running like you were on crack or something, but just didnt sound appropriate......lol This past week I had to bring some of the very young guys at my job that thought they could ball back down to Earth when we all decided we would meet in that evening and have a few games on Monday's and Tuesdays....Let's just say they were very surprised.........

2 Things.

1. I dont care if the Shrink is the ref, no way in hell the Rx could hang in with the lesbian herd.

2. Journey you must have a very different concept as to who's exactly behind the nicks here than the one I have.

By General.....
quote:
Could the Top 5 RX Basketball players take the UCONN Women?

I think Yes

If we were to seriously consider this question, I would say yes also, but "Hesitantly", simply because I don't know what a handful of the best guys here are capable of. In the end though, the physical aspect of the game would be too much for the women, especially under the boards where guys like J~man would just easily move them out of the way. Also, they may be quick, but I know they can't stick with me or most quicker guys. Although many of these girls can handle the ball very well, all of their games rely heavily on what most of them basically are......Shooters..... Still plenty of time to plan for that RX basketball game at next RX party since the last one fell through......

Even if it does have to be 3 on 3 to suit Judge Wapners game........
