The Big Texan Steak Ranch

The Big Texan Steak Ranch

has a LIVE Web-Cam ... to watch people tryto tackle this.

http://www.bigtexan.com/

Our World-Famous FREE 72oz. STEAK DINNER (if eaten in 1 hour) is only for the very hungry.
Many have tried. Many have failed.

How the FREE 72oz STEAK DINNER legend was BORN...

The FREE 72-oz. steak came to life not long after Bob Lee opened the doors to the Big Texan Steak Ranch. In those days, cowboys still worked the area ranches and came into town on their days off to get a good meal and have some fun. Both of those needs could be fulfilled at the Big Texan. One day a cowboy came through the front door bragging that he was so hungry he could “eat the whole, darned cow.”

R.J. "Bob" Lee Founder
Bob grinned as he put the first one-pound steak on the grill and the contest was on. When the cowboy finally yelled, “calf-rope” he had consumed 4½ pounds of tasty Texas beef. Bob vowed from that day forward the dinner would be served “free” to anyone who could complete it in one hour.

Since then, 10's of thousands people from around the world have traveled to Amarillo and attempted to eat the specially cut 72-oz. top sirloin steak, a baked potato, salad, dinner roll and shrimp cocktail. Some have succeeded in completing the feat and joining the ranks of Big Texan champions. Many have failed

Here is what I have planned for the summer:
30" pizza for $1 000. Has to be a sucker's bet, only 30 minutes to finish it, still the largest bounty I could find: http://www.premierpizza.com/challenge.html

29" pizza for at least $300. They at least give you two hours: http://www.barlospizza.com/Big29.html

10+ pounds of sandwich and fries, no prize, just a tuneup because it is local: http://gusandpauls.net/uploads/gpcornedbeef.pdf

30 inch pizza? Are you kidding. I don't believe any human can do that. Keep in mind that is the equivalent of more than 4.5 of 14" (typical large) pizzas. I couldn't eat myself, though I'm sure many can, but 4.5 of those? Come on now. In 30 minutes no less?

A restaurant in the Fruit Dome in St. Pete where you gotta eat a 2 lb burger to get 2 Rays tickets. Problem is I heard you get a ton of fries and something else too.

Sure I could eat just the burger, but the stents in my chest would surely not appreciate it. Food vs Fans I think its called.

I'm a pretty fat ass fucker myself.... I can't even eat the standard size restaurant meal, without bringing home leftovers.

I space out my eating.... Like eat half of a footlong Subway sub, then eat the other half 3 hours later.

I look like I could eat, but I can't.

It's these 160lb guys that eat the 50 hotdogs, and 30" pizzas.

I'd have no chance, in an eating contest.

Doug would have a better chance beating Tiger in Golf ( never played outside of one HS gym class), than he would with these eater guys.
