KONIG.. we are small..Anderson 6"10..but soft..after that this team is missing Gardner and Ferguson..

Carnegie a banger..Dixon getting better..Simmons a 3 playing a 4..Millener tough but limited..but they are players ready to compete..

The strength of this team is the perimeter game..Henry, Acuna, Spencer, Grijalba, Simmons can all shoot..

Chevaria nice point, and Sanchez a much better player..I will keep you posted..Mitchell nice option and his first time in international play..

Costa Rica has plenty of athletes..too bad because of lack of funding and training we will never find out...government should help out like they do in other countries...

too bad because of lack of funding and training we will never find out...government should help out like they do in other countries.

That's sad, what it comes to mind is the Olympics at Beijing where the same athletes had to support other tico athletes so they could continue in the competition...

People who handles sports money in the government are just a bunch of thiefs, but that's an old story...

CR dropped the game to Panama 91-61 (St. Rose had 10 points for the Panamanians). BTW, I don't think there's that big a difference between Panama and Cuba & PR: Panama has quite a few guys playing in Europe as well as more than a handful of guys who played D1 ball. And I believe this Panama team has several new faces that are playing with the national team for the first time.

Missing Gardner and Ferguson was a big setback for this team and changed the style they could play in relation to the team that went to El Salvador. And that's one of the issues for CR right now...it's still a program that doesn't have the depth to surmount a key absence.

I'm not sure if the strength of this team is on the perimeter; maybe that's by default since there is no post presence. Chavarria and Sanchez are the two best point guards in the national league, but they just don't have the size to be effective in international ball. Henry is usually solid in these things, but looking at the stats it looks like he was gunning vs Panama and just off (2-17 from the field with 6 turnovers). Then again the team shot 26% from 2FG, so it's not like there's a lot of other options. Grijalba is overmatched in these games...Spencer is the type of guy that could do well in international ball, but he's been playing like crap in the local tourney.

Sanchez has played poorly..Henry has been pressing..and the size we have has been overmatched..Spencer has been defending and playing well..tonight CUBA..

I thought the team was expecting big things this weekend. 91-61 is an ass-whipping. Should've stayed home and saved the money for more Pinto.

I don't mean to be disrespctful because your posts are as valid as anyone elses', but does anyone outside of about three posters on this site remotely care about this semi pro league or whatever it is?

I respect the fact that you guys are way into this thing and hey..a guy's gotta have a hobby right?

What kind of crowds do you guys get? Much better crowds when you play out in Limon or better in the city? Are these players paid, if so what kind of money to these guys make?

While I have to think you guys are fighting an uphill battle against apathy, I applaud your enthusiasm.

You've gotta applaud the enthusiasm of these guys to take time off their jobs and away from their families to go up there and lose by an average of 25 points per game and finish dead last.

Big ups to all the guys for giving their all.
