I agree. The two announcers piss me right off. The Peter's is pretty slow. If he fights a good boxer with an okay chin he'll lose.

My man Juan Carlos Gomez will be back in action next Friday on Telefutura facing a guy named Cisse Salif. I hope Pinny will have a line on it.

Im going to be stuck in Vegas for the weekend and not able to watch the fight and Franks wont hook a brother up.

Its time for the final bets. iam still on Freitas and the under. Speed will be the main difference and i actually believe taht Freitas is also the better boxer.
But since i am on a pretty mad winning streak i very cautious on this play, because the only seure thing in betting boxing is that the winning streaks always come to an end.
i dont like going against franks , but we will see. small play on freitas in the first 3 for +1000.
good luck with your bets.

this is one of those fights in which the urge to wager is strong even though i`m as befuddled as the prosecutor in the mark peterson case....

i was thinking maybe throw a few dollars on diego based on his new found jab and defense....along with the height and throwing the straighter punches...goossen really has improved him....

but, along comes t.m. bringing up solid points about freitas being much the quicker guy....and probably, physically the stronger guy....

and ohhhhhhh....that corrales chin.....it`s china, plain and simple......if casamayor can put you on your pants with a jab, look out....

i wonder if stevie forbes has a half a shot?..maybe....getting the thai out of his own backyard.....lol...this is probably a distance fight...

i haven`t a clue on corrales/freitas....

and judging by line movement,i am not alone....

t.m....i think the early rounds will be fought cautiously....but,it`s smarter to stay with the trend than buck it.....and the trend is,you are on a roll...

so i`ll ride with the hot hand...i know it`s a very long shot...

at least we have a little action....

g.l.

I enjoy reading some of the writeups and opinouns you guys offer down here. Even though I am a little leary placing a under wager on two 135 lbers. unless I'm missing something these guys can punch and Corrales can't take a good punch. Good luck tonight gentlemen.

I am overjoyed that sissy Freitas got beat, I was going to comment before the second mouthpiece incident that he was intentionally spitting it out to get more time to recoup. It seemed like anytime he got in trouble, oops there goes my mouthpiece. Poetic justice that Corrales won because that was a classless display by Frietas.

Luckiest win of my life!!! I had under 9.5 rounds and win by about 6 seconds after the fighter gets up and quits. Sure is nice to have something like that go my way for a change.

Thanks man. My book graded it as a loss. I need somewhere to get an offical time. I'm about 99% sure that there was about 1:35 left in the round.

Did you catch it?

I also had the under. The fight was stopped with 1:33 left on the clock in round ten. Everybody who bet the o/u was tuned in to it. I don't see how a book could grade this as an over. I'm waiting for my book to finalize, now almost one hour after the completion.

My book did grade it as a "W". Hope the Hitman can reverse his result. No question about it going under. Pretty good fight, nonetheless.

i hope i`m not the only one that almost jumped through the t.v. set after the ref.....

i have seen so much incompetence in reffing lately that it is mind boggling....

you stop the fight to put the mouth piece back when there`s a lull in the action...not in the midst of a fight altering knockdown.....a 10 count...and then another 15 to 20 seconds on top of that.....lord......

so,he takes a point the second time?.....what if freitas gets a second wind and is able to box his way through the last few rounds?.....i thought he was way,way ahead prior to the knockdowns....i honestly had trouble giving any rounds to corrales...he was getting the shit kicked out of him....

the ref`s stoppage of the fight after a solid knockdown to reinsert a mouth piece that was purposefully spit out was an enormous gaff.....

twice!!!!!!!!!....

the mouthpiece wasn`t knocked out...it was spit out as freitas was getting off the canvas.....

i hope this isn`t ignored because corrales finished the job.....something has to be done....

that said, corrales was very lucky that freitas didn`t have the stamina to box for 12....his chin looked much better....but his feet are horrible...he`s slower afoot than vinnie testaverde...

and i was a little shocked that freitas threw in the towel...he was totally gassed....he ran for 9 rounds....but,he fought excellently in spurts and was controlling the fight....totally...even though his power didn`t have much affect on corrales....

chico stayed with it....but,he`s lucky freitas didn`t have a little extra in the tank...

a very enjoyable fight...i think it lived up to my expectations...

I didn't feel that Corrales was lucky at all. Freitas was moving a RIDICULOUS amount, he was bound to get tired. I don;t know many boxers who could move that much and not get tired. Not to mention that Chico did some bodywork and got a few low blows in as well. I was surprised he took Freitas's punches as well as he did but besides that nothing was a surprise in this fight. Freitas has gotten gassed in other fights and I never felt he was emotionally very strong (crying after fights and shit). It was a pick'em fight and now we saw why. 1 guy had a speed/quickness advantage, the other was tougher, more mentally strong and hits harder. I realized Corrales don;t have the strongest chin but for some reason a lot of people looked past Freitas's chin which was certainly questionabe as well. Anyways, I didn't bet on the winner of this fight, it was to much of a toss up. I did take the under though and christ I was lucky Freitas quit.

Sorry sphincter to drag you along on freitas. The speed difference was there but chico showed that he can hang in there and still be dangerous.
This fight was a no bet fight anyway. i am glad the end of my streak didnt cost me more.
more luck next time

Sphincter:

The book that graded it wrong was a credit shop. I emailed them last night and they fixed it this morning.

On another note I have the first two weeks of the Northcoast preseason late phones for free. I will be out of town one of those weeks and if you want them you can have them. I know you were following him a few years back with interest.

Let me know if you are interested and I will email the codes to you

Wow that fight went down exactly the opposite of how I thought it would. I mean the exact opposite. The under was the luckiest win of my life though, 90% of the time Im on the other end of that. Diego just broke him. I dont know if it was as much physical fatigue as it was a mental thing. Diego just broke him mentally by the way he kept taking all his stuff and just kept stalking him. I was on the other end of that when I was a kid once and I know what he was going thru. It didnt matter what I did the guy just kept stalking me and I thought it was just a matter of time before he caught me and killed me. I hate to say it - but I said uncle too. I think thats exactly what was going thru Freitas's head.

I bet against Diegos chin and got beat. I really didnt think that he had that kind of chin and he proved me wrong. It was a great performance. I think that Freitas is in a Shane Mosely type of situation. He has a decent trainer that cant take him to the next level. Not to totally put this on the trainer but I think that Suarez is a pretty basic guy - maybe Im wrong. But it seems like it always one punch or a one two with Freitas. I NEVER see him do like a 4 punch combo or more. He dosent throw enough uppercuts also. He's a pretty one dimensional fighter in my opinion and thats probably because of the trainer he has.

He made that decision to back away all night instead of stay in there and engage and I think that set the tone for him mentally to the point where he felt like the hunted after awhile. You dont have to run to keep him off you - just throw the jab and make him pay everytime he tries to come in. I know I sound like an ass and its alot easier said then done but I've seen other guys do it. And I believe that Freitas had the power to do it.

But hey - for you guys that called Corrales that was a heck of a call. At least for me 6 beautiful seconds cushioned the blow a little.

This sucks - theres like nothing on the horizon. With all of the god damn quality fighters out there there wont be one good friggin fight for over a month. Ridiculous. Seriously.
