Too bad we cant bet with all these experts giving their professional opinions.

My buddy said Goldman said bottom is 2000 and 3200 by end of the year. I am no economist but lets get real.

I said I am a gambler.....I would bet him $100k if he wants to put his money where his mouth is that it wont be 3,200 at the end of the year. That is a 6 percent hair cut from the high.

Yeah right.

3200 wow.....that would be a hell of a comeback with a shutdown economy!! guess they r figuring a real short shut down and Fed goes on a buying spree?

Market is going to turn up tomorrow, guys.

Don't know if we've bottomed yet but I think we're in store for a significant bounce tomorrow and maybe a couple of days straight with rising volume which we haven't seen since 2/18. If not tomorrow, very soon.

Listened to the President's corona briefing tonight. He mentioned chloronique again. And he stressed strongly several times that the business shutdown would be coming to an end soon. Based on everything he said I would estimate that he is gonna recommend lifting in different parts of the country at different times starting no sooner than the end of his 15 days (think we're on day 7 or 8 now) and no more than two weeks from now. He seems to think that there is a convergence of data and preparedness that will allow him to focus on getting the "American worker and small businesses back on their feet". He said the bill in Congress right now was almost signed last night before someone (Nancy Pelosi) mucked up the works. He expects it to be signed soon without the ridiculous add ons that pork up normal bills.

Just one man's opinion. Mine.

"I didnt see Fauci at the briefing, locked him in the washroom? ......"

He said that Fauci was currently in another room with the task force.

You may not like this President but he is the perfect President for these times. He knows how to attack problems. He is not shy to pull in the best people from around the country to address the country's needs. And he's got them all working towards the same goal.

You may not like Pence but he has been really impressive in his role in my opinion. Hell this is a role that in most other Presidencies would have been filled by the head of the CDC (Center For Disease Control). This should be their time to shine. Where are the reps from that agency? The first two days of his briefings there was some woman there representing the CDC. Not the head. Thought that peculiar when all the other agencies involved were represented by their leaders. Then about Day 3 of the briefings the head of the CDC appeared and spat out some vacuous bs. A couple of days later he was gone and hasn't been seen in about a week now. Point is that Trump saw right through that bloated charade of an agency and quickly pushed them to the background. The people he's brought onto that stage to fight this virus are sharp and focused. The President runs a no bs ship.

Heck, he even had AG Barr up there tonight. They are going after hoarders (those holding large supplies of PPE and not releasing them to fight this national emergency) and fraudsters and price gougers. The guy has this shit covered. From zero to covered in a few short weeks. Heck, he's getting factories to readapt to make PPE and ventilators as they are in very short supply in a swamped demand world market. The private sector is setting up drive through testing in their big box parking lots.

And the most impressive team member is the woman he brought on to coordinate all the pertinent world data, Dr Deborah Birx. What a sharp, engaged woman.

We will manage this corona problem in the shortest timeframe possible with Trump as the top coordinator. He is smart, project oriented, tireless, and relentless. He is even working really well with Democrat governors. Trump cares about the American people not the politics. And he is the perfect President for these crazy times.

Just my opinion.

Very well said.. To many here just have TDS or blind hate.. Has the administration been perfect ? Nope. Nobody is. But you have to have blind hate If you can't see the effort thats being put out to solve this crisis..

The other guy that wants to be President can't even get past the travel ban with China. He's still at open borders with this.. His past with H1N1 was a failure too.. Unless you were blind there also..

You have one group with blind hate as you say and the other side has blind faith .

I guess everyone is blind at this point

Actions speak louder then words.. I've seen enough actions to have the faith.

I don't know, man. I'm more interested in more targeted individual stocks. I like to think my way through things. The SPY or sector buying is kinda lazy in my opinion, although safer. But that's just me. Maybe I'm way wrong. Convince me.

I tried to make my point without being too political .

I did not even pick a side .

Because to be honest I don’t even know what to think or what to believe at this point

no yuo're not wrong, MIch. You have a high risk tolerance ( youre a gambler!!) , individual stocks can far out race its sector/broad market etf. The 'right' ones that is

that decision needs a fundamental analysis (and technical of course).

hopefully some folks chime in for you, i dont do any fundamental analysis

WWJD? What would jerome do?

Unfortunately, he's probably gonna buy ETF's, not individual equities. Even the fed chairman is a Boglehead.

SBUX will catch a bid fast if this is all in the rearview mirror though. Down 45% from highs.

The economy isn't gonna have an opening day like MLB, it is gonna come gradually, small restaurants/quick food service/retail establishments probably be first of the discretionary income category. And SBux a place people can go and be around their friends w/o being around 50-100 other people.

Cash cow to begin with. Even if the shutdown rages on, they have drive-thru and not everyone gonna give up their coffee addiction cause global pandemic going on.

If we aren't fucked, that's an easy w/ outperform w/ limited downside imo.

Actions speak louder then words.. I've seen enough actions to have the faith.

But we have not seen the results of those actions yet .

If trump were to lift this shutdown in 8 days it’s not the action, it’s the result of the action he will be judged on.

And if he does lift this shutdown in 8 days he will be going against the advice of a lot of people who know a lot more about this stuff then he does.

So that’s where the blind faith comes in .

Are you just going to assume he is making the right decision just because ?
