VVV:

When you make an opinionated post like that, you should at least double-check the date to make sure that you've got something to complain about.

It looks like April 23rd to me.

Minnow/Halifax/everyone else

Please accept my apology for my unfounded criticisim. Obviously the check is purported to be dated April 23 and I was wrong.

The entire situation, however, should never have happened. The rules at Cascade clearly stated that any bet inadvertently accepted after the posted starting time would be graded "no action."

Now we get into a gray area where Lenny says that if BTJ had won he would have paid. Well, I was born at night but not last night! But we will never know for sure.

What Lenny should have done was refund the wager, fix HIS software or personnel problem and kick BEANTOWNJIM'S arse to the next sportsbook.

VVV

p.s. If the allegded e-mail saying "thanks for the $660, sucker" was actually sent then we are dealing with guys who will poke you without lubrication. Am curious about the e-mail message because to me that is a serious concern.

Lenny didnt get your $660 anyway, the Cam Neely Foundation did. This is where your wife works so you should be happy. Cascade compromised and sent the $660 to the charity which they didnt have to.

If these "stand-up guys" actually sent that e-mail that is a bigger story even than the robbery of BEANTOWNJIM'S money!

"Thanks for the $660, sucker"?

How many of you would have accepted some asshole saying this to you(assuming this is an accurate portrayal)??

Even if nobody else cares, I would like to know if this e-mail was actually sent by Lenny or one of his boys!

Giving the money to a charity is nice but it dosen't forgive the original disregard for the sportsbook's own rules.

p.s. Patrick McIrish, this is the type of issue upon which you have made your reputation. Reply urgently requested. V

Don't care to "get thrown out with the wash" here but this whole situation really deserves a serious examination by someone(s) neutral. In spite of this guy's acidic style if the facts are what they appear to be and Cascade actually sent the allegded e-mail then there is something for all offshore gamblers to be concerned about.

VVV

It is disturbing that NO ONE has disavowed knowledge of the purported e-mail.

Vin I think you have been around here plenty long enough to know who to believe a sportsbook with a solid rep or Beantown. If you do a search you will see this guy knows little or nothing about anything but comedy. I actually like some of his post and think he is a natural funny talent. However! The longer he keeps this scam going the longer his stock goes down.

krackman

I know where you are coming from! Are you suggesting that you do not believe the "thanks for the $660, sucker" e-mail really happened?

ASK DAVE FROM CASCADE TO COME INTO THIS FORUM AND TELL EVERYBODY (I DID NOT SAY TO BEANTOWNJIM THANKS FOR THE 660 DOLLARS SUCKER)HE WONT BE ABLE TO DO IT.I HAVE SAID THIS FROM THE BEGINNING WHY WOULD I MAKE SOMETHING LIKE THIS UP I NEVER THOUGHT BEING CALLED A SUCKER WAS SUCH A BIG DEAL LENNYS FIRST E-MAIL TO ME WAS MORE DISTURBING THAN BEING CALLED A (SUCKER)

"The rules at Cascade clearly stated that any bet inadvertently accepted after the posted starting time would be graded "no action." "

VVV:

Not to get technical, but I think hamneggs (or someone) checked it out and the wording actually said something like "could be" or "may be" graded no action, so the wording was not "set in stone".

Boys let me just say that I will wait for the denial from Lenny and his boys and will not post again about this for a reasonable amount of time (to be determined by me).

While I respect the opinion of Krackman I must admit that the longer this goes on the more it appears that an e-mail was sent saying"thanks for the $660, sucker!!"

This issue has been buried in the various bash BEANTOWNJIM threads but in my opinion is way more serious than poor BTJ's problem.
