FoxSports1 has done such a great job covering UFC that I’m
really disappointing to see espn taking over .. yes they will bring more
viewers and that’s more money and resources but I can’t
see them doing a better job , I don’t think they will come close

I've seen various reports on this but I believe that the ESPN deal is gonna cut the total # of cards from 35-36ish to around 22ish. That would be a really good development IMO as the cards would be better top to bottom.

Don't think FS1 vs ESPN coverage will be all that different. They will probably hire the best analysts from FS1 like DC, Cruz, Florian.

Th al iaquinta fight just one fight .. but no chance Conor carries tha bum for 5. Rounds .. Conor would’ve embarrassed
him .. maybe I overestimated khabib because of the savage he bring vs marbles and now underestimate him vs Al .. but Ferguson
beats khabib that night if he was able to make it to the ring

Agree, it's just a different style though. I do think it's possible Khabib took it easy in the later rounds and wanted to prove a point he could stand, knowing the fight was locked up either way. GSP didn't finish guys either and he fought some real bums. Couldn't even finish Dan Hardy or Koscheck or Fitch or Shields.

Who looks more impressive in victory doesn't necessarily equate to them having a higher probability to achieve victory.

Khabib is the modern day GSP just amplified since he is a way worse striker but an even more dominant wrestler at his weight class.

Not been following... but goddamn. Didn't Poirier just fight? And now signed against Diaz? Sad thing is that Poirier been getting the results and he has to fight Diaz. He could lose and then he's out of the conversation for good almost. But that's the UFC. No logic or reason... just dollar signs. Either way, that should be a highly entertaining fight going distance with neither man breaking.

Ferguson vs. Khabib was a dream fight for me.

Back to imaginary battles in the Octagon. Would have loved to see Ben Askren vs Khabib. Both undefeated guys. Don't know if true, but heard Askren and Woodley have trained a lot together.... and Askren believes he owns Woodley unless Woodley lucky enough to clip him. And don't believe that's hype.

Unfortunately, I think the Khabib/McG fight will go like a Askren fight. Khabib smothers him on the ground.

Poirier fighting Diaz is a blessing for him. On a huge stage @ MSG as well. Diaz is a big name but a fringe top 10 guy in the 155 pound division. So he gets to make $ fighting a legend with a huge name and it's an easier fight than any of the actual contenders in the division.

He'll get a title shot if he wins and I'm not saying he didn't earn it, but he will be getting a title shot w/o beating any of the consensus top 4 guys in the division (McGregor, Khabib, Ferguson, Lee)

I agree. The money will help with the new baby and family life too... He definitely deserves a title shot. The boy simply loves to fight, and he always comes prepared and brings it. He stays active and fights a lot (way more than the others). I really like the guy, honestly, and given his upbringing (whooped the whole trailer park and decided to start training, lol),he stays humble, and focused on the challenges ahead...

Sucks that fight is 3 rds. I thought it might just be the main event and be 5 rds, they must be working on GSP for that card. No other title fights seem possible to headline.

Could maybe see them changing it to 5 rds in the next month or so. Although Nate seems impossible to deal.

Idk if Ferguson beats Khabib, they both have the same weakness, they leave that chin out there exposed heavily. Ferguson almost got disposed of in the first round with his replacement opponent,Lando Vennata, but I think Fergie has more killer instinct than Khabib, and that’s what worries me about him as I think he should’ve easily finished more fights than he has over his career.

In the Conor vs Khabib matchup,I see it panning out two ways,Khabib gets caught early and Conor wins,or Khabib drags Conor down constantly, wears him out after 2 rounds, and we either get a boring fight where he wrestles fucks him for 3 extra rounds,or the killer instinct shows up and he easily finishes him. Idk what scenario I like panning out the most yet.

This. I don't think Khabib will try and stand for any part of the fight. He gets him down early and Connor gasses in the 2nd. This is about as good of an opportunity as you'll ever get.

Wow. That would be amazing. Super fight. I think McG can clip and knockout Khabib with his paws... if he doesn't get mauled on the ground like a bear. But I don't think he'd be able to do the same vs GSP.

Neither Khabib or GSP are into sales.... but they are top class so I guess it doesn't matter for generating the revenue.
