Why!?!?! Because you say so! So when does a KO prove something? After the first round, or maybe only in championship rounds! Or how about after the fighter is gassed and tired! Or maybe after multiple punches proving the fighter has little power!?! Ridiculous!

lol ... is it possible you can just have a back and forth without flying off the handle ?

We agree to disagree ... you have your opinions, I have mine

also .. when asking a question you use a question mark ... not an exclamation point.

While I don't think McGregor is the best fighter in the history of the UFC and is no GSP everyone saying he is a bum and terrible is off their rocker. He has beaten everyone the UFC has put in front of him, beat a guy that was considered one of the best pound for pound fighters in Aldo, went up TWO weight classes to fight a legitimate contender in Diaz, kicked his ass for the entire first round, then got tired and choked out. All his wins were a fluke or there were short camps, or they weren't good, etc yet he loses to a guy 2 weight classes above him and that's legit? He didn't get a full camp to add 25 lbs of muscle, he just didn't have to cut very much.

Who else has done all of that? And he's made millions for himself and for other fighters including the UFC. I was glad to see him lose even though I didn't think he would (to Diaz). His ground game has holes but if no one ever gets him down, who cares? Mendes had him down a lot, he came back and won. Chuck Liddel didn't have a very good ground game, so he worked on his take down defense. That's what I would do as well.

He's really good for the sport. I hope he continues to fight, win or lose. No he's not the overall best fighter ever, not yet.

LOL excuses! Aging Aldo he was the number one pound for pound fighter in 2015!?!!? Not bad for an "aging" 29 year old!

The "Best" 2015 #1 pound for pound fighter only fought once in 2015 and it was his 13 second loss to McGregor ...

And when I use the word aging it doesn't necessarily mean years of age ... I'm referring to a 29 year old who has been fighting for 12 years ... lol he isn't going to be fighting in his mid 30's ... His career is about over and he constantly goes back and forth about retirement.

I used both because I was flabbergasted at such a comment, "one punch KO doesn't prove shit"! I didn't use both later because I was rushed and my astonishment superseded my questioning!
When starting a new sentence you use a capital letter not a small letter. Also when a thought is complete i.e. a subject and a predicate, you need to use a punctuation mark at the end of the sentence.

Yeah and leading up to 2015 he hadn't lost in a decade! And I didn't come up with the rating the UFC did!

If someone was a fan of the sport, why wouldn't they want someone like McGregor bringing huge swaths of fans to it? Upping the payscale for the fighters (who are underpaid because UFC has a monopoly) and generally putting on exciting fights whether he wins or loses?

Makes no sense to me, other than to say some people just don't like any athlete that is even a little outspoken. They want all these guys to be boring and humble.

Like I said, Conor needs a few more fights / wins under his belt over Elite fighters before the over-rated label can be taken off him.

IMO he struggles with Diaz again (if that fight even happens again) and no way is an Aldo rematch a walk in the park for him and neither is Frankie and that's just at 145 ... and if he wants to play at 155 IMO RDA will rip his head off.

Just my 2 cents and time will tell.

The guy just needs to shut up and fight.

RDA probably would beat him. Khabib if healthy too.

But most of the time the champ at 145 would lose to the 155 champ. That is why you have weight classes.

His striking is elite and that is the part of the sport I am the biggest fan of, so naturally I would be a fan of his style.

They can't take the left hand at 145 and it gets in their heads. Reminds me of Roy Jones Jr at his peak.

Only other UFC guy that I've had that feeling about is Silva and unfortunately he got way too happy with the counter-striking style. McGregor hunts people down and is much more aggressive in his attack.

Saw Conor's reasoning. Just wants to be able to focus on fighting rather than do an unreasonable press tour.

I get that... he is not being that unreasonable IMHO... if Connor shows up at all the PR crap or not dont matter, people will still be hyped

He wants to be paid for PR ...

He feels the UFC is taking advantage of him ... LOL

He also knows what this game entails ... If you are on a Huge card and asked to help promote it, you shut up and do it.

He thinks he is bigger than the company and doesn't need to do certain things.

The reason McGregor is the star he is, is the promotion the UFC has done for him.

The guy is an ungrateful little prick.

I think it is safe to say that the UFC 200 promotion in a rematch vs Diaz is above and beyond the normal promotion that a main eventer does.

If he does all the promotion and it hurts his preparation, what if he loses again? Then he damages his career. It is a smart move to pump the brakes if he really feels like it is greatly compromising his preparation.

But his opponent has no problem with meeting the obligations. Shit, I bet Diaz doesn't even have a problem going to Ireland.

The UFC film crew has been here 2x in the last month for interviews and videos for Wonderboy's ME coming up. It's part of the game. No whining from him. Never has been and never will be...

I'm sure what is expected of Conor is far more than anyone else.

And of course Diaz doesn't care, he made more $ in 1 fight with Conor than the rest of his career combined. He can afford a loss, he has a ton of them. Doesn't really have a ton to protect.

Protect, as in someone ran their mouth for too long and now doesn't have the skills to back it up.

If the only reason he is the star he is has to do with the company promoting him, why don't they "promote" more people. Seems like an easy way to make $.

Seem to have a stars problem past Conor and a female....

Because it isn't that easy to find good fighters that are also charismatic and fun to watch fight. It takes a perfect storm.
