Cormier vs Lewis has been confirmed for Nov 3rd.

Can’t say I agree with this one...

Break it down for us, AD, it’s in your totally stacked Division...

me either , right before that knockout i was commenting how dana was gonna ice the shit out of him for back to back piss poor outings ..

Volkov blew too. my god he would get mangled by jones to the poster that thinks he even has a prayer vs jones man that is plain
stupid

Lemme see here, reasons why this fight happens even though Lewis himself admits he’s not even interested (without a big payday anyways, and he’s not getting it)
-keeps DC active for a possible Lesnar fights early 2019
-relinquishes the Light Heavyweight belt for a possible Jones return there, or could it..
-easy fight for DC, or is it, considering Lewis and Volkov would both KO Jones, so surely they can do the same, or at least be competitive with DC...

Hell I don’t know, not really intrigued by it, honestly...

They just want a title fight for the main event at the Garden, that's why. DC probably got paid good to do it since it isn't the Lesnar or Jones fights. Similar to how Woodley probably got a little extra to fight Till in Sept when it made no sense for him to do it but they needed a ME for 228.

Didn't wanna put Diaz/Poirier in the main with Diaz being so volatile/unreliable is also likely another reason.

Think he has brain damage (the poster in question, not Lewis/Volkov, although it is possible Volkov does too after that KO)

Any way to monetize that via insurance?

I agree. It’s still weird, nonetheless. I’m really not interested in the fight at all, honestly, but I guess it will help to sell a few more PPVs.

I doubt it moves the PPV needle too much beyond Poirier/Diaz as Diaz is a fairly big name and coming back for first fight in 2 years.

But it is more for the live audience/insurance policy. If something happens with Diaz, you can't really have like Rockhold/Weidman going on last.

At least Weidman is from NY. Place will be rocking for him...

-900 for DC. What a Main Event. Could we get another Serra/GSP moment?

Does anyone know how much a fighter gets paid (if at all?) when their opponent backs out of a fight due to injury? I know they still get paid for not making weight but don't know about something like this.

As a fighter it would suck to do all that training, hire coaches, not work then not get the paycheck, lose out on sponsor money, etc. For someone like Diaz probably not as big of a deal (but he doesn't strike me as smart with his money) but for a mid-card or less that has to hurt. Bummer too I love watching the Diaz brothers fight.

Well, here’s Gus’ chance to dominate Jones this time. Fight has been confirmed for UFC 232 on Dec 29th.

How Much you throwing down on Gus?

Nothing?

Gus is old now, he’s had too many injuries, he’s no Roy Nelson. I don’t know what his excuse will be but he will have one.

Yea, he’s thrown that old card around on me before too on other fighters, only for me to name 5 that debunked his theory...

Nate is a $ draw despite not really being a top 5 guy in division (perhaps not too 10), they ain’t gknna feed him to a wrestler.

If I was Lee, I’d take the $100k grappling match with Dillon Danis. Easy money...

A fight with Gaethje would be appropriate, but they may give him to Nate, although he’s a wrestler too, but it’d be a blood bath possibility.

Al Iaquinta would be a good match for Lee, but it may be a small step back. Honestly surprised this one hasn’t happened yet...
