https://www.espn.com/nfl/insider/st...re-2020-bucs-season-stacks-nine-patriots-runs

Good little writeup of the 10 SB runs, ranked in order. Obviously #10 is 2017 when they faced Mariotta/Bortles/Foles on road to the superbowl, which is some damn good fortune. But then in the superbowl, Brady throws for 500-3 and has his best postgame game ever and loses, go figure. Why football is such a great sport, so many ways to win and lose.

I would've had 2018 #2 instead of #4, had to beat KC @ Arrowhead

(it is ESPN+ which is paywall fwiw)

Fun Fact: Tom Brady has the same number of NFC Championships after 1 year in the NFC, as Aaron Rogers.

Sad there are people out there that think Aaron Rodgers is the GOAT

Historically overrated

Yeah, it's just silly to throw Rodgers in any comparison with Brady. Rodgers might be the most physically, all-around gifted QB ever. But he hasn't always played well in some very big games. And that's unacceptable for someone with his talent. Playing well in the big games, lifting your team to new heights, and not folding under pressure are things Brady has over Rodgers in spades. Not to mention the 10 Super Bowls vs 1 thing. Yeah, that's kinda big too.

You can only compare to Brady to Jordan or Russell. He's not lucky. His teammates player harder for him than the players on the other team play for their QB. Brady demands perfection even when he himself makes mistakes like the interceptions yesterday. He galvanizes those around him because they don't know anyone else who went to 9 Super Bowls and won 6 of them. You got guys in the league who would be happy to make one Super Bowl appearance even if they lose. To Brady the concept of losing doesn't exist in his mind.

Tom Brady is more likely to make a Super Bowl than Steph Curry is to make a 3 pointer?

True.

Tom has been to the Super Bowl 10 times in 21 seasons (48%)
Steph Curry's lifetime 3-pt % is: 43%

Tom Brady in one season has already thrown more playoff touchdown passes than any other Tampa QB ever.

His 3 interceptions on Sunday? Chiefs defense will/need pressure. Any 43 year old will feel it. This guy may not? I don't see him in the booth when time comes. Sidelines as a coach

His three interceptions Sunday were the direct result of idiotic second half offensive play calling. They took an 18 point lead into the second half. Arians goal should have been to run and use short passes to advance the ball and kill clock. That is, and always has been, Brady's signature style of play. Perfect to hold a big lead. Nope. Arians insisted on going deep with the ball, even on third down and short. Dumb. Dumb. Dumb. The Tampa D had to hold on by themselves instead of having Brady kill clock for them.

That's Bruce Arians. I like Tampa in the Big Game. But Arians coaching is not really SB level. Tom Brady carried that team there with his leadership.

Yep

He also has more Super Bowl appearances (10) than the Bucs have playoff wins (9)

My favorite Tom Brady fact is that he almost has as many playoff wins against NFC teams (9) as Aaron Rodgers (10). LOL

Tom Brady is the greatest quarterback to ever walk the planet.

  • If there was any doubt left — any question about whether he was merely a product of the Patriots or Bill Belichick — he dispelled it this season.
  • Brady needed just 11 months to turn the NFL's worst franchise (.393 winning percentage) into Super Bowl champions.
  • Sunday's win was a true team effort, but make no mistake: No. 12 brought the Bucs to the promised land, through both his play and leadership.

By the numbers: Brady, 43, has more Super Bowl wins than any NFL team. It's completely insane.

  • Brady: 7
  • Patriots: 6
  • Steelers: 6
  • Cowboys: 5
  • 49ers: 5

Fun facts:

  • Brady's 19-year span between championships (2001–2020) is a North American major sports record, and it's not far off Jack Nicklaus' golf record of 24 years between majors (1962–1986).
  • His fifth Super Bowl MVP extends his own record and breaks a tie with LeBron James for second-most championship round MVPs in NFL/NBA/MLB/NHL history. He trails only Michael Jordan (6).
  • Sunday marked the first time that Brady's team held a lead in the first quarter of a Super Bowl.

What they're saying: My dad and I watched the game at our beach house in Kiawah Island, South Carolina. My uncle emailed us after the final whistle:
"I was at Kiawah on the first day of the 21st century watching Brady beat Alabama in OT in his last college game. Hard to imagine 21 years later you guys would be there watching him win yet another Super Bowl."
— Uncle Neal
The longevity legends ... Brady is the first NFL player to win championships in three different decades. Babe Ruth, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra and Jim Palmer did this in baseball, Henri Richard in hockey and Pelé in soccer (World Cups).
