NBA said in another thread the series was still a pick with the C's up 2-0, that's just way too much love for Philly
Yeah Celts were about -130 before today's game, I think Milwaukee/Miami disparity was a big reason. Milwaukee is a good team that went through a lot this year with a coaching change, some injuries, but they have 1 of the best players in the league and not as many defensive liability guys as Philly.
Miami is just a scrappy team with 8-9 guys that come to play every night but don't really have the talent to compete in a playoff series against a good team. And if you look at Philly's win streak to end the year, a lot of that was vs weak comp as well. But they had the same record and Philly crushed Miami and the Celts and Mil was a battle.
Then obviously Irving's injury played a big role and it's easy to say this after it happens, but sometimes when you're a defensive team 1st then losing your best offensive player isn't quite the same blow. The Bulls losing Rose and still being very competitive another good example of that. Just not to the same degree.
