First I am happy Italy won, do not like the French...

I really do like soccer, played it when I was younger and love to watch high level soccer...

The problem now is soccer has not evolved like other sports who make changes to catch up with the times...Soccer is more competitive now than it ever has been and there will be more and more games decided by pk's...

Is that what you all want, because it is not what I want...A game needs to be decided by playing the game...Not some stupid shootout...

USA got 2!!! red cards for plays i've seen a dozen times in the last 3 games alone. more subs(3?!!!!only) play till someone scores. oh poor babies can't run around for another hour. this would prove who wants it more. i'm so glad its finally baseball season and nothing else.

I agree that PK's suck and that like "American hockey" you should play until someone scores. I think that FIFA should institute a rule that if the game goes into overtime each team gets another sub, and players should be allowed to re-enter the game. However as a fan I do enjoy the fact that they play the overtime period in it's entirety. I think hockey and football (pro and college) could benefit from this. I mean it would be much more exciting to see a team having to push as hard as possible to come back and score after going down early in the overtime.

pretty much everyone hates the PK's.. problem is in the world cup if they play untill they drop and it takes another say 90min to score they have to come back in a couple days and play the next stage. Maybe they can just implement it in the final game.

I wish they would just drop 3 or 4 players, give them 3 extra subs in extra time, open the game up a bit so that teams can't just pile 11 players in the penalty box when they are getting their asses kicked just to survive and take their chances in the PK

p.s. if you don't want to lose your money on a PK then bet on regular time only, duh

i also agree PK's suck but you have to look at it this way, after 120 minutes of running 120 yards by 80 yards they look very tired. You have to end the game these guys are strong but 120 minutes takes a shit load out of you.

I heard basically all the votes were tabulated at halftime.

And yes I agree with everyone about pk's, they blow. However as has been mentioned there's very little that can be done. If they keep playing you risk injury to the players. Only suggestion I have is to subtract a player from each team in extra time and go 10 on 10.
