can you elaborate on the 'why' did the refuse you? they didn't like that your income was generated abroad or that you didnt have an actual residential address (I imagine the mailing address was a jetbox/aerocasillas similar thing?)
They provided no reason, just a telephone number to call if I had questions. I haven't called.
I imagine the following problems:
a) They couldn't verify my telephone # against public records. (It's a Skype-In number)
b) They couldn't verify my address against credit record nor public records. (It's an EarthClassMail scanning service)
c) My credit record shows no activity in last 10 years
d) They asked for State driver's license/identification, I did not supply (they allow you to give passport instead, but probably don't like that much).
e) I put employer: SELF
I'll try setting up some bank accounts in person next time I visit the States, this was an online application with an automated approval process.
A coworker of mine opened an account with BAC Miami, and was forced to supply a Florida utility bill (he gave his sister's address/bill and they accepted that).
Since I bothered backfiling my taxes last year, I figure I may as well re-establish my credit and FICO score in case I want to buy a house or property here with a bank mortgage. That and some Internet merchants still won't accept my CR credit cards.
