I back-filed 8 years worth under 80k/yr, 1040 + 2555EZ. They didn't seem to care, no shoe dropped (yet, knock on wood). They even sent me a fucking stimulus check?!

What docs did you have to provide aside from filling out the forms?

Nothing.

And an audit would basically consist of a single statement: I got paid in cash, I spent it all, I have no records.

I wonder how the fuck they'd audit someone here anyway? They want a desk to sit at and go through non-existent records, I'd tell them to find a table at the Del Rey and I'll meet them there. Maybe buy 'em a few colombiana hookers. Tell them this is where I spent it, you want records start asking girls and blackjack dealers -- easy as pie excuse.

They can audit me all they want..no reported income, no bank acct's, etc. All assets I have are in SA's.

I do want to marry my beaner girlfriend and bring her up north with me but I understand I have to marry her here so she won't be a wetback. Have all the info in a file on my pc but want to take care of my taxes asap.

can you elaborate on the 'why' did the refuse you? they didn't like that your income was generated abroad or that you didnt have an actual residential address (I imagine the mailing address was a jetbox/aerocasillas similar thing?)

They provided no reason, just a telephone number to call if I had questions. I haven't called.

I imagine the following problems:

a) They couldn't verify my telephone # against public records. (It's a Skype-In number)
b) They couldn't verify my address against credit record nor public records. (It's an EarthClassMail scanning service)
c) My credit record shows no activity in last 10 years
d) They asked for State driver's license/identification, I did not supply (they allow you to give passport instead, but probably don't like that much).
e) I put employer: SELF

I'll try setting up some bank accounts in person next time I visit the States, this was an online application with an automated approval process.

A coworker of mine opened an account with BAC Miami, and was forced to supply a Florida utility bill (he gave his sister's address/bill and they accepted that).

Since I bothered backfiling my taxes last year, I figure I may as well re-establish my credit and FICO score in case I want to buy a house or property here with a bank mortgage. That and some Internet merchants still won't accept my CR credit cards.

..no reported income

That's worse. Then they look at your lifestyle and living expenses, estimate your unreported income, and tax/fine you based on that; if not charging you with tax evasion. If you can report up to $91k foreign earned income (present year, changes every tax year) without paying taxes, you might as well invent a reasonable figure and just offer the cash salary/cash expenses excuse if ever asked for documentation. IMHO, YMMV, IANAL.

About the buying over the internet stuff....there is one easy way out if you run into problems getting a card , go to walmart (or have someone do it) , get a prepaid/reloadable card (make sure you can enter an address for AVS purposes) and voila , you will run into ridiculous fees (fee for loading , fee for not using , fee for blabla) but it gets the job done (not a privacy solution because you still have to supply a valid SSN at time of activation but oh well)

But yeah, having a card , using it and paying it on time really does wonders to FICO scores, (seen it happen first hand  )
