Indy has to do something different on special teams and defense if they want to win this game. You know what they say, defense wins championships. This is another one of those games where the general public is going to be all over the Colts because they score alot of points. The GP will ignore the fact that the team with the better defense wins in the playoffs...... Look at this last weekend, Carolina, New England, and Indy all advanced, Green Bay/Philly is a wash defensively (IMO).

I look for the team with the better defense to move on this weekend....New England.

I just hope that Manning doesn't make early mistakes. If he doesn't, the roll may continue.

General...one more thing brother,Colts had the ball in that first matchup for 19 more offensive plays than the Patriots and still lost.
Looking at the Colts not punting in the last two game I came to this conclusion...Making the Colts punt equel 3-14 point swing for the Pats based on the fact the Colts can't stop anybody....Based on that reasoning making the Colts punt 3-5 times in this game Pats when easily.
Mike Vrabel was asked what belichicks goal was for his defense...Vrabel said that Belichick said some wise ass thing about forcing the Colts to punt would be a start.
Vrabel took that as being wise ass, but there is more to that statement than meets the eye.

This year you have to throw out the stats and trends because they don't mean jack. After Indy thumped Denver everyone and their mothers said no way they could beat KC. Just look at the reasons why Indy wouldn't win at KC;

1) No dome team is ever successful away
from home in the playoffs

2) Dungy is 0-5 on the road in the playoffs

3) Manning won't be able to auible with KC
fans screaming for his head

4) The list goes on and on and on...

Point being is this year is a little strange. And Belichick's dominance over Manning might come to and end this weekend.

Just look at last weekend when home favs should have dominated according to past trends. But instead the dogs BARKED very hard with two winning SU.

Manning and Dungy are shunning their critics with their performances thus far. Based on that I think Manning does one last thing this weekend, which is getting one more monkey off his back, Belichick's monkey.

Hey General, your Colts goes 9-1 on the road after this weekend.

KMAN, I agree with you that defenses win championship. However, Indy might last long enough beat the Pats finally.

i agree also . .this will be ugly. the emergence of stokley will be the difference maker. the colts no punt again completely frustrating the anemic pats.

if the pats didnt have all those fluke wins were looking at indy being a 8 or 9 pt home fav. this has to be the biggest talent discrepancy ive ever seen in a game of this magnitude. the colts dont even have to play good to win by 10. im siked i really cant even wait to see this.

What fluke wins do you speak of?

Mr. Bing,

KC was guilty of fluke wins and a soft schedule this year, not New ENgland.

The only game that I can think of that may have been somewhat flukish was AT miami in the fall. Only because Mare missed some FG's he almost always hits.

Otherwise, you are looking at a team with a clutch qb, and a defense that DOESNT GIVE UP POINTS AT HOME.

A dominant defense does not make one a fluke... in fact it makes them the best team in the nfl.

Colts haven't played a game this year below 50 degrees...they have played 11 dome games 3 florida games and 1 buffalo game in the 60's in November.
Rodney harris will jack up the first Colt over the middle..it will be aligator arms the rest of the way.
Pats by 10 -20 points easy!

Anybody know whether the absence of OG Woody will have a significant impact on Pats' offense? Do they have quality depth there? Just heard he's not playing Sunday.

i posted in haste. i will just do my best to stay out of pats threads since when it comes to them, i dont make a shred of sense. i do think stokley will be the difference maker though. however i dont think the pats had brown in their previous meet either.

Stokley sits out; Cameron better

LAFAYETTE — Indianapolis Colts receiver Brandon Stokley and his wife Lana are breathing a bit easier today, cautiously optimistic about the improving health of their son, 3-week-old Cameron.

The newborn was stricken with meningitis on Tuesday and is hospitalized in Indianapolis, with his father excused from practice Wednesday and today as the Colts prepare for Sunday’s AFC Championship at New England.

“Right now, everything looks great,” said Nelson Stokley, Brandon’s father and UL Lafayette’s former coach, who flew to Indianapolis on Tuesday.

“Cameron is stable. He’s come around. I think they’ve got the bacteria taken care of. Their concern there is the effect later on. He’s moving and is very responsive, and Lana has been able to be in there with him.

“We just have to keep our fingers crossed.”
Brandon Stokley, who has eight catches for 201 yards and three touchdowns in the Colts’ two playoff victories, is undecided on his participation this week.

“Brandon is still debating whether to go and play,” Nelson Stokley said. “Lana wants him to go. If he plays, I’ll probably stay here and help out.”

X...nice piece of info right there...also do you know that the Colts haven't been practicing with pads on for about 2 weeks???

Pats have been hitting with pads on in single digit weather.

Lets all hope young Stoakley gets well.

Indeed. Let's also hope my Colts spank the shit out of your Pats this weekend. Knowing how disappointed you would be would make the victory that much more sweet.

today's around the horn made some interesting points (again i will stick to facts, since my excess of pats opinions are garbagish)

out of the 4 games played last weeked, neilson had the pats ranked a dismal 4th for viewership.

the nfl doesnt want to see the pats in the SB becuase of their total lack of star power.
