Most of this will take care of itself. As always what will suck is where you may have 2 undefeated teams and 6 1 loss teams that you need to choose from. I guess we will find out as the weeks go on.

You need to dig a little deeper.
Dig deeper for what? If you think Ia is a top 4 team than fine. I personally think if you do the eye test they are not. But once again it will get played out. Their schedule is softer than osu. Ohio state plays mi and mi state penn st at least

The committee doesn't rank teams based on a eye test. That's my point. Tonight's rankings are based on what has happened thus far, not a complete season ranking.

At the end of the yr they most certainly do. Only reason osu got in was 59-0 over Wi in big 10 championship

The committee looks hard at a teams record relative to the schedule they have faced. The likelihood of other elite teams having the same result if they had the same schedule. I respectfully disagree about a "Eye test" determining the committee's decision on rankings. The only reason they got in was one victory over a Big 10 champion? I don't think so.

If you think Iowa and Memphis are jokes at this point in the season you don't know much about college football. Is their a chance they fold in the next few weeks? Sure. Is their a chance a team like Alabama moves up if they beat LSU this week? Sure. Again, my rankings are as of today, not next week, or the week after.

Top 4 (in no specific order)

Baylor
Ohio State
Clemson
LSU

First four out (again, not in specific order)
TCU
Mich State
Alabama
Iowa

Next four
Oklahoma State
Notre Dame
Stanford
Florida

Memphis will be somewhere in the 13-20 range. I'd still put FSU, Oklahoma and Utah above them.

Ohio State and Baylor will not be in the top 4, nor the top 6, in my opinion

You might be spot on, we'll see. I just kind of rattled that off the top of my head. I do concur however, the committee is looking at season TO DATE, and not taking any consideration on what "might happen" down the road. So teams (like Iowa) who might be in now, could fall out, even if they keep winning.

I still disagree on where Memphis will come in. But we'll find out soon enough.

I could be spot off too, lol, but I don't think so. Not saying I will be exactly correct but I will be close.

I agree about Memphis as far as normal rankings are concerned. I have Memphis ranked #15 in my normal power rankings but as far as the playoff committee is concerned, I believe they will be one of the first two teams out of the top 4.

Well, I had ND a little lower than the committee, but otherwise things were kind of in line. Not that I'm bragging about it or anything....lol....Baylor SOS definitely hurts them at the moment, so makes sense to keep them out.

i think they just hold a spot for Alabama every year. never mind they lost...AT HOME.....to a 2 loss Ole Miss team. now i really have to root for LSU this weekend. so tired of the Alabama bias every year....

but even losing to LSU wont matter because a 2 loss Alabama still has to be better than anyone else I'm sure....

I`m watching the show right now....And these guys are putting Alabama in the 4 spot tonight.

I say no way they are in the top 4 tonight.

1-Clemson
2-Ohio St.
3-LSU
4-TCU

I was wrong about Alabama...I thought it was to soon to put them in the top 4 with 1 loss....If they beat LSU then I can maybe see them in the top 4.

They put al I top 4 because they passed they eye test. The committee feels like they a top4 team even though they lost. I don't necessarily agree but don't tell me they don't use the eye test.
