— Reds-Braves were supposed to play a doubleheader Wednesday, but the nightcap got rained out, to be replayed September 9th. Decision was made by the home team.
Braves visit New York for a 4-game series with the Mets starting tonight; they lead the Mets by 1.5 games for the first Wild Card slot. By raining the nightcap out Wednesday, Braves can start Chris Sale in Thursday’s game, plus they probably got to New York a lot earlier than they would have otherwise.
Smart move.
