I think my biggest mistake was not posting about it when I made the move.

I guess I could've let everyone vote on it but I didn't want to wait too long as the waiver period is only 1 day.

Waiver period is only 1 day. You made no "mistake". Vote would have been Ideal but there was not time for it. You could still do a Vote, if majority want DeAngelo moved to whomever would have claimed him offa the wire, that owner who mistakenly placed him there would have to move him to that Team.

IMO though...its done and you made the decision which was best to preserve the Integrity, the Fairness of the League and you did this in the best interest of the league on the whole.

To put it Bluntly at this point if you explain that to the owner(s) whining and they continue to whine then what you're dealing with is owners who are whining cuz of an opportunity to win the league by unsavory means taken away from them.

Simple Question: "Would you prefer to win or lose this league based on your own skill vs. other owners (what we all signed up for) or would your rather win or lose it based on a mistake?

A mistake that was able to be corrected and not have an impact on the outcome.

Anyones left whining after that, fuck 'em. Either they're a chronic whiner or a person without any integrity...sans Nobility. Fuck 'em.

Yeah, happens pretty often.

I've been on both sides of this, that is to say have seen both paths taken and trust me the whining you have now is less bad than what you'd have at season's end if you'd let DeAngelo go and that proved to decide who won the league and who did not.

Which it very well could....decide the league winner/losers.

As Commissioner your CHIEF job, responsibility, is to maintain the absolute fairness of the league. You did that here. Life is replete with decisions like this. Your 9 year old comes back from trick or treating with a bag of candy bigger than you've ever seen. Kids an expert at Trick-or-Treating carries with him or her extra costumes so they can switch out and hit the best houses multiple times. You confiscate 9/10 take it to a school for Homeless Kids or a Shelter 'n donate it cuz you know it'd rot your kid's teeth out and lead to a life is misery on their part. same decision you made here....in essence. You did what was best for ALL of the teams because no team wants to win or lose based on a error unless that team owner is a dishonest cheating-ass scoundrel and if they are? Fuck 'em.

No rules were broken. Drama queens like to make shit up so they have a reason to moan.

It's up to the commissioner to maintain the integrity of the league. If he didn't, that would be wrong

camy, I don't necessarily disagree with you.

what do you suggest I do if now tyne friend drops his top guy and let's waiver #1 pick him up? to me that is collusion
These are the headaches and no win situations that got me running for the exits on even the simplest of pools. The complicated nature of these new pools is really beyond me because simply following the rules sets you up for an even potentially bigger problem which is collusion. Of course suspecting collusion and proving it are two different things. I still would say follow the rules and let the colluders collude. If they want to ruin the integrity of the contest then that is on them. I was surprised by the number of people that said letting the mistake go was ok but I can clearly see the no win situation here.

You did "right" thing as in being a good guy, but honestly it should have gone to a vote...

you are right....i'm sure the votes would go with me. I can still do it...i just didn't want to put a vote out and have him clear waivers and fuck things up more

Vote is probably the best solution. And a Vote would present an EPIC opportunity for some serious comedy. Were the Vote to be that DeAngelo should be moved to that team that'd have claimed him off the Wire.

Unlikely the Vote turns out like that but if it did make your response:

"I am a Commissioner from The Goddell School of Commissioning so your Votes mean nothing. The Player is not getting moved. :):)The Vote was just to make you guys feel involved and to create the illusion that I care what you guys think, want. I don't. /discussion."

Ya gotta admit. That'd be funny.

I actually came very close (had it done and was about to hit submit) to dropping Levon Bell earlier in the year before he was hurt. I was in a hurry and being careless. Luckily I caught it and did not do it but it got me to thinkng........what if? I don't think single person in my league would have complained if I'd have done it and the commissioner reversed it. I mean what is worse, undoing a simple typo that was caught instantly or having the entire league changed by a simple typo.

No question I think you did the right thing. I agree a vote would have been better, but who cares.

Being commish sucks. I feel your pain......ya live and learn. Bringing any issue to the table for all to see should always be your first step. I have to admit that there is no chance that I would of let that go through. The poor guy made an honest mistake.
