The Rolling Stones used a refrain very similar to that of "Constant Craving" in their 1997 single "Anybody Seen My Baby?". They later gave writing credits on that song to K.D. Lang and Mink, shared with the original authors Mick Jagger and Keith Richards.

Written by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards, the song also carries writing credits for k.d. lang and Ben Mink.[SUP][1][/SUP] The song is known for its chorus, which sounds strikingly similar to lang's 1992 hit song "Constant Craving". Jagger and Richards claimed to have never heard the song before, only having discovered the similarity prior to the song's release. As Richards writes in his autobiography Life, "My daughter Angela and her friend were at Redlands and I was playing the record and they start singing this totally different song over it. They were hearing K.D. Lang's 'Constant Craving.' It was Angela and her friend that copped it."[SUP][2][/SUP] The two gave Lang credit, along with her co-writer Mink, to avoid any lawsuits. Afterwards, Lang said she was "completely honored and flattered" by receiving the songwriting credit

I've listened to so much music in my life that I've found similarities in a lot of songs. It also wouldn't surprise me if these lawsuits start creeping into movies that have very similar plots..

They do?

No offense but I have no idea how.

I know this stuff.

Let me give you guys an example of something that truly sounds the same that i picked up on a long time ago & have told others.

Go to youtube & listen to the intro to both of the following songs:

Sclub 7 - 'Never Had A Dream Come True'

Elliot Yamin - 'Wait For You'

Identical & that's what copying one another sounds like...

Elliot Yamin was playing on my iphone today when i had my music on shuffle - i listened to his whole album. The chorus and intro are very similar

Add me to the clueless group, I can hear a definite similarity in both songs.

So what? A lot of music sounds similar. The vast majority of music has evolved by influence. That's why when a truly unique musician like Beck comes along it's something special.

If this is copyright infringement all these motherfuckers need to be dragged into court next.
