Just because Cliff Lee isn't -200 doesn't mean it's a trap game. Wandy has an ERA below 3.


It's the same gambler's mentality that makes you afraid to bet on a winning streak because a loss is bound to happen, or because a team is on a losing streak you think they are "due".


Lots of extra wrinkles made Phils at -130 tonight. Most have been talked about already here.

"The trap" is making the Phils a road fav, makes people think the books like the Phils to win. If the line was -105 or -110 then people would think the books see it as a toss up.

Ah well. I had a big chunk on my favorite pitcher in the MLB. When Ace-Ace posted his pick on the Phillies I figured it was blessed. Glad I didn't double up, though I did put a tiny bet on the RL after Gabby's endorsement.

I was scanning all sorts of sports articles on Lee and Phillies, too - trying to figure out if Lee's last out was a fluke or signs of things to come. Since I didn't see otherwise I decided it was a fluke.

Guess I'm staying away from Lee for a while.
