I would imagine the people who took the pats probably have a ton of entries and they know if they win they have a clear ticket and probably eliminate almost 50% of the field in 1 week

It's actually a dumb strategy. You're already in the same position if the Pats win and you're not on them today, half the field is gone regardless. I can see the strategy of not playing Cincy real clearly, but why not go with a game with at least a better chance of getting you to next week while the same half of the field is gone. If you're using all 20 picks in this contest, I can't see a scenario where the Pats would be used, unless something unforeseen happens during the season.
