The trial lawyer destroyed the oil man. No contest. And both were better than their respective Prez candidates.

Some don't really agree with you D2:

PS: If you're new to Kerry Spot, here are two of my debate assessments that I'm pleased with, and people seem to like:
This was the single most devastating one-sided drubbing since Lloyd Bentsen smacked Dan Quayle all around the stage in 1988.

If I ever need to sue somebody, I’ll call John Edwards.

If I ever need somebody killed - like, you know, terrorists trying to kill my family - I’ll call Dick Cheney.

Cheney is hitting a very soft pinata, defending doctors and attacking lawyers on medical malpractice.

UPDATE: The Bush campaign must be happy - they have a bunch of quotes to distribute to reporters:
ABC News' Poll Shows 43 percent think Vice President Cheney won debate, only 35 percent think Edwards won. (ABC's "Special Coverage," 10/5/04)

(sorry for the excessive capitalization, folks)

NBC's Tom Brokaw: "Dick Cheney Reminded Me Of George Foreman, Kind Of A Slow Gait, But A Powerful Right-Hand When He Unleashed It In A Number Of Areas As He Went After The Kerry-Edwards Ticket." (NBC's "Special Coverage," 10/5/04)

MSNBC's Ron Reagan: "This Time, I Think The Chattering Classes, And I Include All Of Us Among Them, Will Come Out On The Side Of There Was A Stature Gap There, And It Was To Cheney's Advantage." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04)

MSNBC's Chris Matthews Calls The Debate Between Vice President Cheney The "Howitzer" And Senator John Edwards The "Water Pistol." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/05/04)

MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell: "I Think Dick Cheney Did Awfully Well, At, First Of All, Putting John Edwards In His Place. Saying That I Have Been Presiding Over The Senate, And I Didn't Meet You Until Tonight. Talking About His Not Having Been On The Job Was Pretty Devastating." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04)

MSNBC's Joe Scarborough: "I Tell You, Tonight, No Doubt About It, Edwards Got Obliterated By Dick Cheney. This Is The Most Surprising Part. This Debate Actually Turned In Cheney's Direction When They Started Talking About Domestic Issues. I Thought Cheney Handled The Foreign Policy Issues Very Well." (MSNBC's "Hardball," 10/5/04)

Anyone else notice how little Cheney referenced Bush? Edwards was always saying John Kerry and I, John Kerry this and John Kerry that. Cheney acted like he was the President himself. Oh, wait a minute... :heh:

I was probably too strong when I said he destroyed him. Cheney was tough and composed, no question. But Edwards was sharp as well. I thought he was sharper, but it depends on perspective I guess. In any case, I think both of them served to highlight how weak, terrible weak, almost pathetically weak, George W. Bush was in the debate. It's sad when you have these 4 candidates and the *******, goof, lightweight just happens to also be the President.

Halliburton is the only company on the face of the planet that could do the job they are doing in that part of the world, that is rarely mentioned. Also from what I understand Halliburtons profit margin is suppose to be between 1% and 3%. Not bad when their employees stand to have their heads sliced off.

Kerry and Edwards are 2 of the biggest frauds I've ever seen. For Edwards to play class envy and avoid 600K in medicare taxes that goes to help the needy, what a fraud. They have NO plan it's all talk.

Line,

You're right Edwards did say Kerry voted or co-sponsored tax cuts over 600 times. I'd imagine there's some kind of gimmick angle they are looking at this, because there's no way in hell the most liberal democrat in the US Senate voted or proposed legimate tax cuts accross the board. They may be talking of cutting spending on defense or free give aways to people that do not pay taxes. It's not tax cuts for workers accross the board.

i thought edwards was pretty good. cheney did a much better job than bush did and i think bush will parlay what cheney said in his next debate with kerry. edwards is a trial lawyer so, for him to do will in a debate is not surprising.

none of this will impact the outcome of the election.

Edwards Looked Atrocious. Plain And Simple, And Undeniably So. Asked Specifically One Question, He Rambled On About Another Topic. The Best Was Regarding What Qualifies Him To Be Vp. Truth Of The Matter Is: Nothing. He Is A First-term Senator, Who, As Cheney Pointed Out, Hardly Ever Shows Up For Work! He Is A Greedy Trial Lawyer Who Tries To Emulate Bill Clinton With His Facial Expressions, Tone Of Voice And Clenched Fist. Very Pathetic, Greedy Human Being. I Am Ashamed To Say John Edwards Is An American. :(

Kerry Is Likeable, Especially Compared To Kerry. But He Really Has No Experience As A Politician And Should Have Been Laughed Right Off The Political Landscape For Voting Against The $87b Appropriation For Our Troops.

youre right, edwards hasnt had a chance to get the whole 'siphon money out of american tax payers via oil companys' scheme down pat yet.

I am thankful cheney isnt smarter. I really am. I say to myself 'as selfish as this guy is, if he was the ivy grad type rather than the ivy school drop out type (sterotype, and you know you love it) this guy could have caused way more damage with his selfishness'.

clinton erased the nations big dirty puddles of b.senior so its up to kerry to do the same with jr. and I more than believe.

I hope barbara and george are done fuckn cuz I dont know how much more of this I can take

"The difference is Kerry and Edwards play the class envy card ie tax breaks for the rich"

It's not a card, tax breaks for the rich are simply unethical.

kaya,
if you don't pay taxes how can you get a tax cut?

the top 15% of wage earners pay 80% of all federal taxes. the only thing left is complete socialism.

This proves that your country is like India or Brazil.

The very wealthy have such incredible levels of income, it makes the wealth creation levels of ordinary people virtually insignificant.
