Be very careful with any bets on Germany guys. This team is not as strong as it used to be in the past years. In their last two friendlies before the world cup they almost lost at home to a weak Cameroon team and although they beat Armenia 6-1 which looks nice on paper, this game was tied 1-1 with less than 20 minutes left. They then scored 5 goals in the last 20 minutes simply because the opponent ran out of gas. I haven't seen a convincing game from them in a very long time.
They also have major injury issues even with the players that are going to be on the field today (Lahm, Schweinsteiger or Khedira who was out for 6 month), many of them are aging and are way over their prime (Podolski, Klose), others simply lack quality (especially on defense) and they have a clueless coach who couldn't even win with them when they were at their best in 2008 and 2010.
They may win today as I also think that the Portuguese are overrated and Germany has always been considered a "tournament team", but they could just as easily lose and I wouldn't even be shocked if they would fail to qualify for the next round.

Maybe I shouldn't have. I can only say that I'm extremely stunned by that final score. I would still be cautious with this German squad for the remainder of the tourney even though I may sound foolish after todays game. However Portugals performance was a disgrace and the penalty gift didn't hurt them either. In any case good luck for the remainder of this event Zeke.
