I would imagine the security will be just too intense for something to happen (I hope). A few years ago I was in Rome, so we went to a Serie A match. A couple of things that stuck out to me that there was flairs being lite in stands. Also the supporters from the visiting team were separated from the crowd by a good distance and surronded by full gear riot police. As for how can you stop jerks from throwing things, I am not sure there is an answer. They will always find something to throw. I guess spectatorless sports may be the answers, indeed sad.

AC Milan will CERTAINLY dispose of PSV Eindhoven as Milan is the class of European Football at the moment. PSV have some good players but they cannot match AC Milan in quality of play. Milan wins this easily, I'll predict 4-0 on aggregate.
The Chelsea vs. Liverpool match-up is far more interesting. A knee jerk reaction would be to favour Chelsea. CHELSEA - Top of the Premiership, can surley beat Liverpool, right? I'm not sold. Liverpool is playing in Europe VERY different from the way they are playing in the Premiership. When Liverpool almost lost Steven Gerrard at the beginning of this season, I CLEARLY recall him saying that one of the reasons that he might leave is because he has to play on a team that plays in Europe. Gerrard didn't feel that he was on a competitive enough team to qualify for Europe (ie. Champions League) in 2005 so he considered leaving Liverpool. Not that they couldn't win the Premiership. He only mentioned EUROPE. WOW - Steven Gerrard REALLY wants this!! Gerrard is a LEADER and he leads by example. He is absolutely deadly from the central midfield postiton (as is Lampard), but I think Gerrard can lift this team on his shoulders and get them past Chelsea.
I watched the League Cup Final from Cardiff and Chelsea had their hands full with Liverpool. Chelsea were VERY fortunate to sneak that late equalizer. When it went to extra time, a disheartened Liverpool side gave up 2 goals. Not only does this demonstrate that Liverpool can play with Chelsea over 90 minutes, but there is a nice revenge factor.
Some nice lines are being offered for Liverpool to Qualify and I am grabbing one:
LIVERPOOL +200 to Qualify Over Chelsea (Champions League)
