He was great last year all things considered
Once again more of an age thing. Doubt they move on from Carroll if he was in his fifties or even early 60s....

Who was great? There's nothing out of the Seattle Seahawks organization that is great right now. The defense stinks, the offense stinks, Geno Smith stinks and the coaching stinks. They are an average NFL football team that isn't improving.
I thought Pete did a good job given the circumstances

Seattle was projected to be a bottom 5 team and he managed to lead them to the playoffs

Maybe some of that is good draft work by the front office, but gotta think Pete did a good job motivating the team after Wilson left

Sometimes I wonder why these coaches want to continue doing it in their 70s

I get they’re wired differently and love it, but at a certain point I feel like you gotta spend time with the family and/or travel. Life is short

Truthfully because that is boring. Family can be boring. Vacations can definitely be boring.

Competition is what gets the heart pounding, adrenaline going and dopamine released.

Just the truth of the matter to many....only thing that stops athletes is physically they can't compete at that level and for coaches when the doctor tells them they will drop dead in a year if they continue on like this....

To be truly great at anything you cant have a balanced life it needs to be your complete and utter obsession.

Hard for anyone to just leave that behind and replace it with playing golf and laying in the sun. Obsessions u never bore no matter how rationale it might seem that you would want to finally move onto something different.

Like the old story of a woman going up to the vilionist after a concert and her saying "I would give up half my life to play like you and the vilionist replying "I did"...

We don't agree on much, but I agree with you here.

Belichick loves what he does because he is great at it. He is great at it because of God given talent blended with it being his life's passion. Life's passion means you pretty much study it 24/7/365. That's Belichick and football.

Because I know what Bill Belichick brings to the table. Watch the offers that he gets if they are made public. Bob Kraft is a smart and loyal man. I thought he would see things the way I see them. I was wrong. First time in my life!!! Had to happen sometime.

71 years old. Might as well get a shiny new coach to go with ur shiny new qb.

I was a little surprised Spurs didn't do same thing with Pop.

71 years old only means a ton of wisdom in Belli's case. He's still as sharp and engaged as any current younger coach. You'll see when he goes to the next team. He ain't no Joe Biden.

Can't answer for Pop.

Seattle has run through coordinators over the past few years, I'd think carroll got most say on who was hired as one of his coaches.
John Schneider has never picked a head coach I'd expect a big name or someone totally unexpected..maybe first time NFL head coach.

Schneider is a wild card, lots of big swings and some ugly misses
