Greetings, Captn Jay! It's been a long time since I tailed you, but I'm mulling over your Toronto play.
I watched the last game the 'ole "Dicker" pitched. I actually had Detroit and the son of a gun beat me. He last pitched against the Tigers on the 8th.
5.1 innings, 9 hits, 2 earned runs given up, only struck out 1, walked 1, gave up a HR.
What score do you forecast? Do you think the "Dicker" is incapable of two good starts in a row? I'm seeing the Jays are -200. That's really steep IMO, with this
old codger on the mound, isn't it?

Well, I don't like Dicker and this is nothing new. Last season, I was bashing him but I later did jump on his bandwagon because he did pick up his game. I think he picked up his performance just around mid June/start of July and he did well up to the end of the season if I am correct. He had not so good starts during the playoffs. Some speculation I am told by some, that with a closed dome his 'knuckle ball' does not perform well and with fall the MLB had mandated that the dome be closed during play. Anyways, I don't have any data to back up these claims to say if this phenomenon does or does not have any tangible effect to the game. The dome will be open I imagine today anyways. I still think there is no point backing up Dicker at -210 when you have a 25 year old starter that has done well. The line is moving for the Jays I imagine, because the public loves favorites and will be all over this hot offence. Even with the bats blazing for the Jays I think there will be some difficulty getting hits and we might see some hits a second time at bat. I see this game going under the posted total of U9. The vig is at -125 at my one book and I think that is too much to pay with Dicker.
Eickhoff has been doing very well of late, and this deserves some looking into and imo some backing especially when Dicker is on the mound.
