Nedved and Barros are not in top shape and even if they do start, they won't be able to perform the full 90 mins. So there's a big part of Czech Republic offence. Rosicky has just returned from a thigh injury so he may be off his game. Defense has plenty of holes and goalkeeper Petr Cech has to cover a lot of grounds to compensate. Of course, we are still talking about a top team but these factors will give the americans a good shot.

US team is defensively solid so coupon at +300 is a decent bet. On the other hand, coupon and asian handicap -0.5 are both at +100 for Czech Republic.

I took USA ML and added small bets on 2-1 and 3-1 scores. One thing is sure, this match will most likely send the winner into 2nd round.

A CONCACAF and semi-pro team shouldn't be allowed on the same field as a top-flight European team.

Just ask Sweden and Poland.

Thanks for that. I give Ghana a great chance from the fitness and/or youth angle over the other 3...+ Italy being a bunch of overconfident, selfish, & over-full of themselves party animals over-relying on individual past fame & glory : un sacco di cretini...

I sure hope so!! US needs to move on so they can play...Brazil :smoking:

Only if they come in second in the group-but I don't see them getting out of it. They lose 1-0 to the Czechs.

Going down 1-0 right off the bat was a killer (as it always is). Czechs are a very good team and outclassed the Americans today. Nedved was outstanding

ROSICKY was freaking outstanding.

Couple of picture perfect goals. Czechs moved the ball well in the offensive zone once they got it there. Very crisp clean passes. Their defense kept US out of sync the whole way

Bruce is really going to prove or disprove his value in the coming days. The US didn't play horribly, but just looked shell shocked and outclassed at key moments. Still they attacked and played with a lot more class than they have in the past. Bruce is going to have to go into the proverbial huddle and figure out what he needs to do to connect the midfield with the front line. The defense is always going to be an issue, the US just doesn't have the quality on the backline to pretend there are easy solutions. If we are to win we have to score some goals.

The situation is as good as can be coming off an ugly loss. Italy with a key injury and surely overconfident they can just show up and win this game. Coach should have an easy task motivating the boys by drawing on the humility they must be feeling. US has the abillity to attack and take it to the Italians, but we'll see if it yields results. Our coach will make or break us here.

0-8 in WC games in Europe....see a pattern here?

I'm pessimissticly hopeful, but this is more of the same old, same old.
