Something else that you should consider in your capping is for example Oregon. They have a little bit higher ranked run defense than FSU. But they play in a "pass first" conference, whereas FSU plays in a more run oriented conference. They both are probably closer to even once you add everything in. Both teams giving up exactly 153 ypg rushing on D against FBS opponents. Which is actually not very good for either team for being Final Four teams.
Another thing I think you eluded to is that dogs that have the better run d and o are very strong plays for plus points and straight up wins..with that in mind, there has been 4 teams so far that are final, that qualified for both the better run d and o as dogs:

this is how i have been playing for years.... they are making it so easy to throw the ball in the NFL that it's changing things a little...

THE ONE THING YOU MUST WATCH OUT FOR... some coaches run the ball well and have a great run D but when they get down will start throwing and lose yet their stats still look good and you must simply get off those teams.
i made a ton playing the shitty JETS this year. because of this..
oh.. look at the numbers if you ONLY play teams that are dogs or favs on 3 or less!!!! stucco with that and you can't lose.
must have more yds per game and per carry on "O" AND AND AND less yds per game AND per carry on "D" and be a dog or fav of 3 or less!!!!
stat fox makes it easy.... ALSO look at year stats PLUS last 3 games stats.. you will find some easy plays looking at last 3 games. i started this back in 1982 and have the numbers.. back in the day i did my own numbers , taking out sacks and kneel downs etc... that was work but it tightens the numbers..
also, you must look at opponents of each team.. did they play the same quality of opponents.. in the nfl this will start working week 4-6 depending on opponents. college it takes till week 3-7.. depends heavily on opponents.
