OMT, take it for what its worth, regardless of how old you are, I think you need to look at a long term solution
Appetite suppresants are definitively on the "NOT COOL" list
I suggest the following
-find stuff to eat that is low in calories (say candy low in sugar etc)
-drink lots of water
-try something like scandiet or slimfast , you REPLACE a meal not eat that PLUS the meal, say you give up the supper and drink/eat the substitute instead of your normal meal
-NO mcdonalds, fast food of any kind, I supose pizza once a month is ok and subway would be good for you
-exercise and THEN eat, so you walk and then have your food, that way your metabolism will be operating at "high gear" and the food will not be stored as fat which is what typically happens when you just eat and the body doesn't need nutrients
you say you don't drink so the "no beer" kind of thing doesn't apply
if you really want to try something a little more radical than that I have seen a drug (Xenical) its not a appetite supresant but rather a chemical that prevents your body from fully absorbing the fat content of the meal, so it goes straight through
whatever you do, good luck losing weight, it will make you feel better I am sure
