Buccaneers and TB12 at New England in week 4. Should still be a great game irregardless of who starts at qb.

Line will probably be TB-4.5?
Should be 7+. Very few on NE would start on TB.

Call a Spade a Spade, Cam is used and dull like a old butter knife.

Bellicheck prob said screw it, roll the dice on the rookie and see what happens.

With Newton maybe they go 9-8 but nothing more IMO.

Cam will find a job, Hell maybe Detroit will bring him in as a backup or Washington.

So why was Cam cut?

1) Performance, Jones was better and more accurate
2) Control of the locker room. Cam was highly respected, would be odd to have his leadership in the locker room and not playing. Can potentially cause dissention
3) COVID. Cam was COVID positive last year and missed 5 days of practice last week due to COVID protocol (red tape). Cam is not vaccinated, and Belichick hates bullshit (not talking vaccine here, just missed practice / time)

Football is the ultimate "team" sport. Guys like Belichick and Urban Meyer are factoring in things like Vax'.

Damn all three points make sense. #2 and #3 for sure.

If he is indeed against the VAX, that's his right just call it quits.

He has made plenty of dough and has a flamboyant personality, will find another gig very easy.

As mentioned already, I don't think Cam wanted to be a backup. I thought Belichick liked his leadership and his presence in the locker room. So I'm surprised he was cut

Last year he came off of two injury plagued seasons with no preseason and a depleted Patriots roster. I think he was going to be a lot better this year

Having said that, I worship the ground Belichick walks on and I'm excited to see our next star QB in the making

He didnt look the same since he came back from Covid.

I remember his first game back was agasint the broncos and it was just an awful game (I had the pats in survivor that day and was shocked how bad Cam played)

interesting info.... unders in AFC East division games? Belly gotta be licking his chops at getting 4 games against a rookie QB in his own division

Last time that every team in the same division started a QB 25 years old or younger in their season opener was the 1973 AFC Central, with Terry Bradshaw, Ken Anderson, Dan Pastorini and Mike Phipps, per eliassports
