Lions coach Jim Schwartz refuses to confirm anything, but both players are expected to start Sunday at Seattle. Johnson should immediately resume playing on a full snap count and is a must-start WR1 in fantasy leagues. Smith is somewhat risky because of potentially expanded roles for Maurice Morris and rookie Aaron Brown, but we still have him as a high-quality RB2.

The AP doesn't cite sources, but issued the report after coach Jim Schwartz's Monday presser. Schwartz "didn't sound optimistic" that Calvin would play on Thursday. Johnson wouldn't have practiced if the Lions held a workout Monday, which isn't an encouraging sign. Keep a close eye on Tuesday and Wednesday's practice reports. He'll likely be listed as questionable.

Johnson appears more likely to play than Stafford, but this is a bad sign for Megatron. The Associated Press called him "doubtful" on Monday after he was hurt on the final play of the Week 11 win over the Browns. The Lions will hold a walk-through on Wednesday and Calvin will likely be a game-time decision for Thursday's game with the Packers.

Johnson did not practice Wednesday.
Matthew Stafford (shoulder) is listed as doubtful. Johnson is a full-blown game-time decision for Thursday's 12:30ET matchup with the Packers' No. 7 pass defense. Daunte Culpepper will start and Johnson won't be 100 percent, so it would be smart to consider healthier options with better quarterbacks.

Both players appeared likely to sit this one out after missing practice all week. Stafford was even listed as doubtful on the injury report. Get Johnson into fantasy lineups immediately. While the Packers' pass rushers will probably gun for Stafford's dislocated left arm, he gives Johnson a much better chance for a big fantasy day than Daunte Culpepper ever could have.

Both players practiced Tuesday, though there's no official practice report until Wednesday. "I'm optimistic both of them would be without limitation on Sunday," said Schwartz. "At this time of the year, (they will be) about as full-speed as you can be. Everybody's banged up or beat up a little bit." Johnson has a tough matchup against the Bengals Pro Bowl caliber corners, but he has to played as a WR2.

Uh-oh. It's a bad sign that Megatron went through a limited practice on Wednesday but couldn't go Thursday. We're not sure if this is a precaution or a setback. Still, with Matthew Stafford (shoulder) out and Calvin's knee obviously not at 100 percent, Johnson is becoming a risky start Sunday.

Schwartz also confirmed that Daunte Culpepper will be throwing Johnson passes against Arizona. Factors in Calvin's favor: 1) his talent; 2) Cards top CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has a slight case of turf toe; 3) the game is indoors. Not in Calvin's favor: 1) Culpepper; 2) less than 100% health. The game has a 1PM ET start Sunday, so we'll know Johnson's status early.
