Age should be no problem. Believe me, by your second kid, neither you nor your wife will give it a second thought. First time parent jitters.

I took my 1 year old to the BASH at planet Hollywood last year!!!

Have your wife bring a friend as I did to watch the little one, it's all good.

on a sidenote when the boy was 15 months the grandparents came here (Tampa) and watched while we were in the BAHAMAS for another forum 'blast'; as well as when he was 5 months he was left in Chicago via Tampa, when we went to Ireland and i was best man in a wedding. Many ways to skin the cat.

Leave him with the Grandparents all will be well, you need to let loose. We plan on leaving 2 kids with them next August and go the BASH next year.

L5Y, USC is 4-0 vs SEC, outscoring them 167-48!!!

fyi....my girlfriend took her 6mo old son on a cruise with her family. Sure they were around to help watch, but nonetheless, the kid was able to travel.

We do some small traveling with him. But this is going to be a baby free getaway. I love my son more than anything but no way in hell he's coming to Vegas with us. Between talking to friends with kids and hearing the intelligent people on here, I'm pretty sure this will not be a problem. I never thought it would, I'm just trying to convince my GF that it wouldn't be. Looks like Vegas will be in the plans next year. It's been over a year now since the last time I've gone, I've never waited this long between trips before, it's killing me.

It is sickening that anyone would come onto any forum and ask for advice about their own kids. I have two (five and eight) and as a family, we make decisions based on what is best for our kids, not what some people on a forum think is right. I am all for asking advice on how to get mice out of the attic or how to build a deck, but advice on the most precious thing in the world, my kids?? With all due respect, you are an absolute idiot for asking anyone else advise about your kids. Make a decision and live with it. So if something happens, is it OK to say "Well, Green Doberman told me its OK to leave the kids with the neighbors or Skins Raj told me to lock him in the attic or Railbird told me to sign him up for Little League." I am rarely critical about anybody's thoughts but you either are very young or just very stupid or both.

He didn't say he was going to let us all vote on it, he was just soliciting some thoughts. Nothing wrong with that. Surprisingly enough, even the perennial losers on the forum are capable of an intermittent lucid thought.

Personal choice, I guess - but I disagree. I find something very wrong with asking for random thoughts about decisions regarding my own children. Nobody else knows their kids like their own parents. Hell, he is not even asking trusted friends, just random people on the RX. Not saying there are not great people on the RX with lucid thoughts, I just do not want their opinions on my kids.

It's not like he is asking someone at the RX to watch his kids so he can go to Vegas. Take it easy guy.

Not too young at all. If you trust your/her parents to watch him he will be fine. My wife and I left our daughter when she was 2 for 10 days to go to Europe in 06 and we left our son when he was 9 months to go to Europe for 2 weeks this last spring.

Your son won't know whether you are gone for 2 hours or 2 weeks at that age. All comes down to whether or not you are comfortable leaving him b/c he will be perfectly fine from his side. It will be harder on your girlfriend, it's always tough on the mother the first time you leave the kid overnight with someone. My wife racked up $300 in long distance charges each time we went to Europe, she would have a couple sangrias, start missing them and want to talk to them.
