FREE Pick Europa League 1,5 hrs to start!

EL, 21:05 CET, Atalanta – Apollon, Atalanta to win HT, odds +185 and >, stake 6/10

This pick is based on the specific approach taken often by Atalanta’s coach Gasperini when he wants to make a result, especially at home. I think his plan is definitely to make 3 pts here and hoping to do the same away il Lmasol in order to secure next stage and focus on Serie A as soon as possible, as the games between Lyon and Everton almost certainly will through out 1 of these teams. In many games this and last season Atalanta started the game with great intensity, high pressing and lot of running trying to encircle and “kill” the opponents as fast as possible – i.e. the game against Everton but also many games in Serie A, like the last one against Samp, where Atalanta were clearly the better team in the first half. Against this modest Cyprus team which is expected to field defensive formation I don’t see any other game plan for Atalanta in front of their fans at Mapei Stadium, which again will come in numbers to support them as the game is starting @ 21:00 Italian time, so more fans would be able to make the 2 hour trip to the stadium. I am sure Atalanta will try to score as soon as possible, before the guests have the time to settle in the game. Clearly after the two draws produced by Apollon in the group there should be no underestimation, Atalanta don’t snub EL like some other teams, there’s great enthusiasm in the club, they want to secure place in the knock-out stage and this is a must win game for them. The only problem is that captain Gomez is uncertain to start as he picked small injury in the last game. It will be clear only after the afternoon training session today but almost certainly he will be on the bench. With him as possible starter odds will perhaps go down a bit, otherwise if he is outside the starting lineup they might go very slightly up. Against stronger team I probably would not go for this line, but question is could Atalanta’s other offensive players like Petagna, Ilicic, Kurtic etc. be able to break Apollon fast? Imo answer is absolutely yes. GL!

calciotips' Free pick Serie A, 25.10.

Serie A, 25.10. 20:45 CET, Chievo- Milan (-0.25 AH), odds @ +193, Pinnacle, stake 6/10

Chievo had exhausting from physical and mental point of view city derby on Sunday which day won and in such situations they might enter this game slightly relaxed. Chievo are well positioned in the table, perhaps even better than they have expected and this is another reason to be more relaxed. In these midweek rounds teams with smaller roasters like Chievo usually have bigger problems as they need to rotate a bit between two weekend games and with no urgent need for pts rotations might be even bigger than expected. Even with some reserves in the lineup which I expect the hosts are in no way to be underestimated, especially by Milan who are in all sort of troubles and internal dramas at the moment. Nevertheless I fancy their chances here as expect them to be very focused and enter this game with a proper determination to do well ahead of the extremely difficult clash with Juventus in the weekend. It will be crucial for their moral to win here and Milan’s coach Montella knows it. Without the suspended new captian Bonucci Milan players do realize they have to put themselves together and go out and play like a true team, making sacrifices when necessary. No doubt Milan have the better and deeper roaster and can handle better games in midweek like this, so this is a factor that might help the pick here. IMO Milan needs the win here way more than Chievo and if the guests enter the game in a proper way, they have decent chances to grab the win, surely slightly better than this line is suggesting. GL!

Calciotips - Serie A pick 28.10

Serie A, 28.10. 20:45 CET, Roma (-1.5 AH) – Bologna, odds @ +200 Pinnacle, stake 5/10

Roma will have a second home game in just few days after the modest 1:0 win over Crotone with one quite generous penalty. However things at the top are more complicated than ever with all top 5 teams keep wining and this season the battle for CL spots will be merciless. Roma cannot fail in this game, they need to win and their coach Di Francheco will field the best possible line up (with 1 possible exception in attack), despite the game against Chelsea in the CL. After the efficient but not so convincing win in midweek I think he will demand a little more commitment here to secure the win, similar performance like against Crotone might bring the risk of 1 odd goal by the visiting team depriving Roma from the valuable 3 pts. I expect to see Roma returning to their average scoring habbit of 2-3 goals at home. Reasons for this is also the situation with Bologna. They somewhat are in something of a downtrend compared to 1 month ago, their last few performances (especially in away games) were not convincing. I feel they will have troubles coping with Roma at Olimpico, because of the defensive missing players to which now joined the first goalkeeper Mirante out injured. Missing of Palacio upfront will also be important as when they play away from home Bologna seemed depending too much on his experience. All in all, Bologna with various missings and rarely able to put solid performance away, let alone against full strength Roma needing to win this game, like the line and odds here, GL!

I was well aware that Roma have game in the CL next week when I made the pick. There is always a chance that a bet could win or lose before it is settled, Roma had plenty of chances to score a second goal, after leading 1:0 at HT. The pick was good and wouldn't hesitate to make it again under same circumstances!

Calciotips FREE Pick 29.10. Serie A - 1,5 hours to kick off

29.10. 15:00 CET, Spal – Genoa, both to score, odds +1.91 10bet, stake 6/10

Battle at the bottom in which either team will try to get points. Both teams will have almost all their players available for this game. Hosts from Spal are playing with good aggression and courage at home and even if they lost some steam in the last few rounds this is the game they should be focusing to win the 3 pts. Even in the two home games in which they failed to score, Spal had good chances hit the posts etc. so they really are a danger and IMO have to capability score against any visiting team. Genoa surely are not the team with impeccable defense even if their away stats is not so bad, but in some of these games they played extremely defensive without much thinking of scoring goals on their own. However in this game all their offensive players will be available and with the full recovery of Lapadula and Bertolacci the guests finally are looking like a team with a proper offensive gameplay. Spal have conceded goals in all their home games so far, Genoa have many decent options in attack for this game and therefore I feel they will score sooner or later. On the other hand I expect Spal to play aggressive, looking for the goal most of the time and I really fancy here both teams to find the net. GL!

Serie A FREE PICK 05.11. 18:00 CET

Serie A, 05.11. 18:00 CET Atalanta – Spal (+1.5 AH) odds +188 SBO, stake 5/10

I have several reasons to back the underdogs here. The hosts have been playing game after game in a long and tight schedule for several weeks and it’s becoming more and more obvious that they are not able to play every game with equal commitment, while tiredness and fatigue are taking its toll. In every of the last few games Atalanta slowed the tempo in the second half as they couldn’t keep the same level of intensity for the entire game. Today some of their key players will be forced to start perhaps not fully recovered from injuries which is the other problem for their coach – lack of many options in some positions cannot allow proper rotations to help the squad in this tough period. Atalanta played on Thursday in Europa League and with only two days to rest they again are put to a test today. SPAL will come to fight in their battle for salvation and initially will defend deep which will require from Atalanta lot of movement and physical energy. Atalanta's defense is not very convincing lately, if they conecde here even 1 odd goal, it will become complicated game for them IMO. If they don’t score early on, this could be a lot more difficult game than it looks on paper. It’s been raining for a second day in Bergamo, it’s expected to rain all the time during the game, the pitch will be very wet and hardly in best condition and it will be for sure more of a problem for the technical style of Atalanta, while will make it easier perhaps to defend for the guests. No new major missing players on both sides. GL!

FREE Pick TIM Cup 14.12.

TIM Cup 12.14. 21:00 CET, Lazio- Citadella (+1.75 AH), odds @ 1.94 SBO, stake 5/10

Lazio are surely favorites but circumstances around the game are not exactly in their favor perhaps. Immobile will have to play since he is suspended for the league but he is not in grear form lately. With him in, another two important offensive players are likely to miss the game – F.Anderson and Alberto. This would mean that they will have to count mostly on Milinkovic but I guess even he will not be given full 90 min, as the condition of Alberto is not clear. So the hosts might lack a lot from the creativity in midfield they usually have. Lazio have very a difficult game away to Atalanta in the weekend and the performance in this Cup tie will be influenced by this. I think Inzaghi will pick very carefully his line up in order to save the players and their energy for Atalanta which is a team playing with great intensity and he knows that. On the other hand the guests are not a team which should be underestimated right in this moment. Despite the last draw at home they’ve shown very good from lately and will have plenty of confidence after knocking-out another Serie A team in the previous round. Indications are that coach of the guests Venturato will use of course a mixed lineup but he did so in the previous round as well as Citadella did very good. Actually I have confidence that Citadella will be less influenced by the changes in the lineup for this tie than Lazio. However after lineups are released this might move the lines depending on the market reaction to the team news. My feeling is that Citadella will be tough nut for Lazio even with mixed lineup, Lazio might win it in the regular 90 min, but I think it will be most likely with a single goal. I am not excluding the possibility this game to go into ET. Very low attendance is expected – less than 10k at Olimpico, which also would be hardly s strong motivation for totally devoted performance by the hosts, while the Granata will be supported by few hundred fans which will make their voice heard for sure. Value is still on the guests, GL!
