I'm down with the Bears this season..can't wait for the USC game ...I think they have a really good chance to knock pete carrol off his high horse..provided that jahvid stays healthy....I'm on him for the odds to win hiesman also

One thing you have to remember is that in that maryland game Cal didn't "wake up" .. Literally...until almost half time ...then they nearly came back and won the game....

Plus the fact that they were travelling cross country and playing the game at 9am west coast time. And went from 70 ish temperatures in Beserkely to stepping off the plane to 100 degree heat in College Park. By the time the shock value wore off they were already in the fourth quarter. Truth be told, I have a gut feeling that Cal is going to beat Maryland by 30+ points. I just don't know if I have the balls to bet it at -21.5.

Welcome!!
Let this be a lesson..."Early bird get's the best line..."

I think fall camps have gone well for us in that USC and Oregon have dealt w/ a lot of injuries and not a lot of continuity (oregon o-line and wrs, usc qb and o-line and r johnson as well as defense) but we'll start to get a feel in about 4 weeks...

I blew it with the price but I don't want to be kicking myself if they do win so +4500 is better than nothing.

Cal is a team I've sort of "followed" ever since Aaron Rodgers made his fist start in the Illinois game in 2003.

First Meeting of the Year commences...

Well guys, i wanted to wait until this week to talk shop about our future play since anything up to this point doesn't matter as much as this week...also, early season is hard to judge but now we're in october so it's a good time to look back and ahead

Here's where i stand:
This week will obviously define our future, as a loss takes us out of any consideration for the NC...the difference is that before the season i thought this bc i figured it would propel USC to a serious run at the NC...i don't believe that to be the case now, but a loss would put Cal 0-2 in the P10 and w/out winning the conference there's no way they go to NC game...pretty strange to think that in the first week of october the loser of this game has 2 conference losses..!!

I don't feel last week's loss, as a stand-alone event, will play a major role in determining this future play...it's always better to lose early rather than late, and a conference road loss in a tough place could be forgetten about rather quickly if cal can roll through the rest of their schedule...even a 10-2 finish, as long as they win the P10, could put us in a position to grab the coveted bcs #2 spot...

i'm pretty sure no one is going undefeated this year, and w/ only 3 teams left unbeaten, two need to go down at some point...i don't think that's too much to ask for, and w/ conference champ games for all 3 looming, i could see the NC game being determined on the last saturday of the season, w/ possibly alabama and UF knocking one of them out and a one-loss (or even two loss) texas team having their fate determined as well, possibly vs nebraska

after those 3 i think the field is wide open, and even after last week's performance, i still think cal has as much a shot as anyone...once again, it comes down to this week, and i really like our chances vs USC...that's all you can ask for from a 75-1 shot imo
