This afternoon at 12:37 and 12:43 I requested a $2500 Neteller withdrawal both times. I just checked my Neteller acct and BOTH were declined by Hollywood. Called CS and was told to call back on wednesday. Not a good start. LT

That isn't surprising. When doing a transfer of assets like this, it does make sense to freeze the assets during the transition so each sides knows exactly what they are getting\giving. Not that it does a bit of good for the players whose funds are now tied up.

One would hope that they would keep Hollywood as a stand alone operation, and not transfer them over to their generic Software, where every line at every World Gaming Book is the same. As a standalone, Hollywood would be a nice moneymaker for the World Gaming group. But if they force the World Gaming Software on Hollywood, it'll just be another World Gaming Book with no paticular reason for anyone to sign up there or continue there if they have other World Gaming Books.

Wonderful...Also requested a payout earlier today and been declined. Got this email instead.

Dear Valued Customer,

Hollywood International has been acquired by Sportingbet PLC. During this transition period, normal payouts will resume Wednesday morning, May 10th.

We tried not to change the look of the site but rather focus on our back-end services. We have improved our casino games, adding more games and higher limits. We have added many more sportsbook bet types and made the sportsbook wagering interface easier to navigate. We added more tracks to the horsebook and put in place a rebate program. We improved our payment processing systems and added a high-end poker room.

What we have not changed is our excellent customer care and focus on you, the client. We are always available 24 hours, by telephone, Internet or Chat. We will respond to any email in less than one hour. If you have any issues, please call us at 800.220.0002 and feel free to ask for our customer relations manager, Victor Johnson.

Sincerely,

Victor Johnson.

i just got off the phone with a CS rep for hollywood...

he said that hollywood is going to drop the -107 for all customers, including current customers (like myself)...

it is supposed to go into effect on wednesday.

i then asked how soon i'd be able to withdraw my money (no point using hollywood without the -107, duh). he said they're going to start taking WD requests on wednesday, once their accounting dept. is moved into their new building...

he said the WD's should then processed over the next few days. it ain't looking good fellas...oh well.

I'm not sure about that. A standalone book would require more staff, space etc than generic software, backend etc. On top of that it is less 'risky'. I'm not sure how the savings of turning it into a generic book weigh up against running the book as it is, but the generic setup obviously works for them. I don't know why they would buy a book with alot of sharps if they were intending to turn it into a square book. I guess their beancounters would have compared the losses in turnover vs the high vig. Too bad for us.

It makes no sense for them to buy a reduced vig book getting lots of sharper players. I really don't get this move at all. They won't get anything out of this deal because the Holly customer base is well aware of most books out there.

You watch though these guys who sold and a lot of the guys who will get laid off with the merging of backoffices will emerge in a year or two with the same business model. I highly doubt we have seen the last of these guys.

it makes ZERO sense to aquire this type of book & not maintain the -107 business model....

ZERO sense, unless of course Hollywood had a BIG BASE of players on their regular non reduced juice platform aswell,

maybe it is those customers that sportingbet is buying? :icon_conf

That's a great point. Hopefully someone can put some investors together.

...matchbook

Yea, Matchbook usually has 3-5K available on bases at extremely competitive prices and the action supports their rake free poker at WPEX.
