Bruce Lee wins period if it is with street fighting rules. If with boxing rules, then of course Ali, maybe. I not sure if he would be able to hit Bruce.

Being a person who frequently trains in mixed martial arts, I would definately say that Bruce would have simply taken Ali down to the mat and then used a submission hold on him. How, for some still wondering would Bruce get Ali to the mat. Easily, sweep to the leg, a lunge at a leg with body weight placed entirely on the knee cap. This would drop any person, as the pressure in fighting this would lead to your knee to pop. There is many ways to get a big man down to the floor. Bruce would then use his cat like menuvers and grab a hold of a weak point and submit Ali. It could be an elbow, a knee, a wrist, a finger, there is so many to chose from. Simply put, on the ground Ali is history. But with boxing rules have to see Ali in his prime quick enough to jab Bruce to give up. I'd pay though to see this match. Aloha CC.

...ughhh!

You're comparing apples to Orange Juliuses'....

Win in what?

The UCF octagon? A boxing match? Or, perhaps, a street fight?

IMO, In a boxing match, give me ANY ranked feather-weight boxer vs/ ANY MARTIAL ARTIST (regardless of weight) and ill take the bet on the boxer. That's just silly.

Now, would a trained mixed-martial artist like say, Tito Ortiz, have a second of trouble with Muhammid Ali in the Octagon...??? Of course not! Tito would submit him in seconds!

Now, in a street fight (with unlimited space and 'no-holds-barred-rules), give me an EXPERIENCED heavy 'brawler' like say....Tank Abbott vs a light-weight like Bruce Lee or even a heavy-weight boxer like Lenox Lewis, anyday. Get in a bar fight, understand physics and you'll understand why. In a "REAL WORLD" environment, the martial arts is a joke! Put a methed'up biker vs. Bruce Lee (in his prime) in a no-holds-barred bar-room brawl, and see who comes out alive.

In a no holds bar match Bruce Lee wins hands down. There's no argument on this period. I was surprised to see some posters actually think Ali had a chance

, i thought it would be a majority victory for Bruce Lee. Size doesn't matter because i have seen smaller guys crush hugh guys and what an enjoyable sight this way. I saw this one guy must of been 140pds. tops pick up this +250pds. 6'4 bouncer and then tossed him and then broke his face, so when someone thinks size wins just ask the bouncer with the broken face

You're comparing apples and oranges. The argument isn't whether Lee or anybody else could have beaten Ali in a boxing match. It's obvious that they couldn't. The argument here is how Lee would have fared in a free for all fight against Ali.

Size differential doesn't mean a thing in a free fight if the combantants aren't using equal weapons. For example, a 75 year old 112 pound man with a gun (and 15 feet of distance) would have the advantage over Matt Hume, Lennox Lewis, or Chuck Norris.

Lee wouldn't have any problem with Ali because he'd have more tools at his disposal. In fact, there were a lot of men who wouldn't have had any problem with Ali in a free fight because they would have better "weapons" (meaning more versatile fighting skills) to use. For example, any good professional wrestler of that day or any well-rounded martial arts expert of Dan level would have taken Ali apart.

Put boxing gloves on them and make them fight by boxing rules, and Ali would have destroyed them because that was his forte. They couldn't kick, couldn't wrestle, and could only punch at certain areas in an upright position. Since many martial arts attacks are based on concentrating a lot of force into a small area, they would lose much of their power through 12 ounce gloves.

I know that Ali went against Inoki in a boxer vs wrestler match. I also know that it was totally worked (choreographed in advance) to protect Ali. Inoki would have hurt him if it'd been for real. As it was, it was a total joke.

lol

I love this.

I think so Highly of Both. But Come on in a free no holds bar fight, with no rules, Lee would destroy Ali. I can't believe there is any doubt of that. I say in under a minute. In an actual boxing match, the edge of course is to Ali, but not by much. I don't think that Ali has faced to many opponents who were actually quicker and better with their footwork. And the thing with Lee his punches are quick with full force. That is something that is hard to block and all it takes is consistent concentrated hits. Martial arts are not all that different to boxing. Both require angles, footwork, concentration and taking advantage of mental lapses and vulnerable of their opponents. So thats why I don't think it would be so obvious for Ali if he was boxing against Lee.

Lee would win but it would cost him a lot. Like when he beat lew alcindor and then he couldn't get any higher. It's like he won but still lost.

I swore to myself that I would stay out of this one after my last post, but it just keeps getting more and more ridiculous. To all of you who posted (or agreed with) statements like "in a boxing match it would be close" or "Ali by decision in the boxing ring" - you are all fukking insane. YOU'RE ALL CRAZY AND HAVE NO IDEA WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT. If it wasn't so frustrating it would be hilarious how deluded you all are. Ali would demolish Lee in 1 round in a boxing ring. If there are quick little martial artists who could use their cat-like reflexes and quickness to compete against heavyweight boxers don't you think they'd be doing it and collecting the millions of dollars in purse money?

Current line :

In a timed boxing fight:

Ali -135

In a no rules all out brawl(no weapons)

Lee -160

Props: In a boxing match, will the fight go over 6 rounds: yes -200

In an all out brawl: Will the fight last over 3 min No -225

What do you think Chris at Olympic? Curious as to what your line would have been?

Totally biased cause I'm a huge Ali fan. As the quickest heavyweight of all time, with a huge wingspan advantage, Lee would get knocked out before he even got to land a kick or a punch.

Can't believe I'm answering this at 1:00 am on a workday when I should either be sleeping or
