I don’t think he lacks commitment, he seems pretty dedicated. Think I read once he spends hundreds of thousands on his diet/training.

But he’s 5’11 and seriously reliant on athleticism….My guess is most of these new school QBs will have similar shelf lives, Brady/Manning/Brees/Rodgers were able to play forever because they didn’t really have to change playing style. Even Josh allen or Mahomes, hard to see them playing at a high level at 35 unless they really adjust, but we won’t know that answer for awhile. World might end by then.

Perhaps he is embellishing but don't think he's living like Dennis Rodman either.
I am just saying he is aging the standard way athletes would age back in the 90s and even early 2000s.

If you don't have intense focus on your exercise and diet you can hit the wall fast and maybe he does---i just don't physically see it---but doesn't mean it isn't there necessarily....

Even though different sports, Wilson's body type always reminded me of Deron Williams. Smaller, always looked a little fat(for a pro athelete) but had deceptived speed and athleticism. Both fringe MVP candidates in their prime and both hit a wall suddenly.

Yeah, but what I'm saying is I think he probably doesn't lack any commitment. It is just this might be the aging curve for these current QB's that use their legs much more than the previous generations.

Are Mahomes, Allen gonna be out there in 7-8 years running around like they are now? And if they aren't, will they be that good? Just seems like the aging curve is gonna go back to what it was before. Someone like Jackson, Hurts, Fields almost certainly won't have that much longevity unless they switch to flag football.

Yeah. I wonder if Allen and Mahomes will be more of the Favre model. He obviously didn't put up the running number these 2 do---but also loved to run around when he was younger.

I think both will be fine pocket passers when the legs start to go.

Hurts I still think is simply having a fairy tale year and reality will hit.

Fields I think is garbage.

Jackson will always be hurt. But has already had a much better pro career then I thought he ever would---i thought he got figured out at Louisville and by college defenses his last year there. So no matter what he does now i was wrong on him.

But yeah. If you're taking hit after hit if you're running you're obviously now balancing the life expectancy of a rodgers/tom brady and balancing that against the expectancy of a running back---which is around 28-30 years of ago.

So figuring 40 for a top level qb who doesn't run and the 30 or so for an rb----34-35 for running qbs seems about right. Simple math yes--haha

Hackett was more or less hired because Denver thought he was the key to also landing Rodgers. Which it's hard to blame them considering the success they had with Peyton Manning towards the end of his career and Rodgers wasn't coming off a threatening career ending injury.

If I am Denver I would have thought hiring Hackett gets me Rodgers also...then front office panics and makes the only move they can for an upper elchon qb.

Maybe the whole Rodgers saga was just so he could fuck over Denver. Did they pass on him in the draft? Because he obviously never truly intended on leaving GB---team said they will grant u a trade, lose ur OC(who you loved) trade ur #1 wr and you go "nah ill stay after all"...haha
