So is there anyone here that wins more than they lose at the casino?
It really is pretty simple to break down. Look at the house edge numbers. If the house edge is 1%, then for every $100 that is bet at that game, the house makes $1. The casino just wants tons and tons of money to be bet. Other than card counters at blackjack, which they kick out, they have an edge on every bet. They want all players to keep betting and betting. The house actually makes a lot more than their house edge, because most people that come to Vegas have a budgeted amount to lose, lose all of their budget, and then go home. It is fun to play once in awhile, but my advice would be to not play unless you're just playing for fun. Everyone on here has won money in a casino, but anything you win is just a loan. The house will always get it back. The only winners are the ones that got lucky for awhile, and then quit. The best way to look at casino gambling is that it's a slow process of the house taking your money little by little. Is that really fun? I speak from experience.

Craps is an amazing game. It can be a lot of fun. But it's probably best to never start. It can be like a drug. And you will lose a lot of money playing it.

I really miss the days when the El Cortez had $1 craps. 100 bucks could last a long time on a table like that, even if you took the full 10X odds they offered.

Those are good odds. Somewhere, I think Casino Royal, had 100 times odds on $1 craps. If you had an adequate bankroll, you could play all week for 12 hours a day and not lose $100.

That's the thing about Vegas, though. No matter how good of odds they give you, they will always win. $1 craps with 100x odds gives the house 1.4 cents on every roll, even if you're betting $101 on every roll. They have basically no advantage. Yet, because the house has an unlimited bankroll, and all gamblers have a very limited bankroll, you can bet that Casino Royal made a lot of money on that game.

Belly,

I guess I am confused by u saying never lay more than -110, are u saying never to play a favorite in baseball, or bet a -110 total or more, and how would u go about not laying any vig?

Thanks:toast:
I was talking about football and basketball. There are way too many reduced juice shops to ever lay -110(unless an opener or a better #). I quit wagering on baseball after the All-Star break in 1983(Fred Lynn). Sports wagering year around was too much of a grind and time consuming. It's the best gambling decision I ever made.

how can I learn how to play crap and play with a good strategy? I don't know how to play but would like to try it out next time

WizardOfOdds.com had a great explanation of the various odds and strategies, and it includes tips on ettiquette as well. I used that info and played the free version on bodog before I went to the casino for the first time... Its a great game to play; I remember my first time playing at Mohegan Sun and shooting for like 25 minutes straight (which at the time felt amazing).

With rhythmic shooting, you can win at craps. It just takes more practice time than any of us could put in.

Without rhythmic shooting, play don't pass with full odds laying as little as possible on the don't and loading up the odds bet because there is no vig.

That table is still around, but it is always super packed. Too packed to be any fun.

If you trip is not for a while, stick with VP. Still some decent games in Vegas. With comps and cash back you can actually make a little.

If you wanting to drink and have fun, stick with Craps. You have to know the Strat. for blackjack, or your odds are much, much worse. You could get a blackjack strat. card and take it with you.

Good VP info and where the games are is here http://www.videopokerreview.com/.

You can also get VP software for your computer to practice.

Good luck
No. Casino gambling is money spent on entertainment. The longer you play, the more you lose.

Don't expect that. Odds are very slim on that

What's so difficult to understand? The casino's bankroll outlasts the gamblers. At a craps table, people buy in for $50 or $100, and then leave after it's gone. Sometimes it lasts awhile, and sometimes it goes quickly.

Throw in the pure randomness(streaks) of any casino game, and you have a recipe for disaster. The average gambler can't cope with the variance. How many times have you heard of a player going bust, with 20 minutes of cold dice, or a single bad shoe. Double up to catch up.

Craps is great if you know how to throw controlled dice. Then the odds are way in your favor. It takes a lot of time and practice but that is the only way to win long term in craps. The casino can do shit but throw u out if you win too much
