There is LOTS of dirt Republicans have on Obama (much of the detective work done by the old Karl Rove alliance -- thank you Karl!) but the public has yet to see any of it. Some of it I have seen, most of it I have not.
The reason is simple: Hillary.
If they were to begin the fireworks right now, they would gift wrap the election for Hillary.
At the moment, Hillary is buying her time, as are Republicans.
Republicans are quite content to wait in the weeds because Obama is hanging himself without any assistance -- his numbers are thankfully dropping like a rock. (John Kerry was up 12-15 points in Aug of 2004.) So all things considered, we're pretty happy with the current atmosphere.
Once Obama clinches the nomination officially and there's no turning back, a few groups (with no apparent connection to the McCain camp, obviously) will unleash the gates on hell on Sen. Obama.
It's going to be quite a show.
"Hope" sheeple who think Obama is the Chosen One will not know what hit them.
Good luck with that. It's not as easy as it sounds. McCain promised a different kind of campaign. If he makes it too obvious that it's the same ol' and them some, there could be serious backlash. It will definitely be an interest couple months to watch. Amazing thing is it's only two months. Not a lot of time really when you consider that they've both been basically running for more than 18 months each.
