you raiders fans are delirious.. sure, mcfadden, deangelo, and walker are solid additions and they are at least coming back to respectability. But with a head coach who has only coached one season in the NFL and a starting QB who has never played a full season, I really think the playoffs are out of the question.

Who said playoffs. I say 8-8 or 9-7. If russell can build up some confidence it may be better.

raidermatt: 9-4 going into december.

How have Jamarcus and Michael Bush looked in the mini camps? I always thought Bush would be an effective back if he recovered fully from that injury.

C'mon man, even you have to know that is a stupid comment. The Indy Colts, who are a MUCH better team, with Peyton Manning as their QB, who is a MUCH better QB, might not even go 12-4 this year, so why is a below average team with an over the hill QB like Favre going to go 12-4? I think Russell sucks and anything over him is an improvement, but management doesn't think so and if you drafted this guy to be the franchise play him! They aren't contenders this year so there is absolutely no need for Favre. Find out what the kind can do and if he sucks like I suspect you go out and draft a new QB next year (Matt Stafford).

And don't say Favre could mentor Russell because they play nothing alike and I really don't see Favre improving his game that much, if at all.

I understand supporting your team, but don't make yourself look stupid with outlandish homer statements.

What exactly are you basing your opinion on about Russell. His LSU days. Cause he was pretty good for the tigers. I hope its not those last three games of the season last year. And to call Cutler the 5 best qb in the league is pretty ridiculous. He isnt even top 10. Manning X2, McNabb, Brady, Rivers, Garrad, Romo, Brees, Bulger, Anderson, Hasselback, Delhomme.

Well Jamarcus is finally as his playing shape. He still weights alot but its more muscle and he is very mobile. Bush looks great. The problem is finding him playing time. With Fargas and McFadden there.

Shut up. I dont believe this statement either. But i not saying thats its impossible. Cause if things go the right way and balls fall in our favor. The raiders could go 10-6 with Russell. I think 8-8 but 10-6 is possible. If fucking Buddy Ryan starts to blitz more since we play so much man to man. Also our d line and o line is better.

Bush is going to be the short yardage back, I honestly see them dealing Bush or fargas if another team loses a back. Jamarcus is just a big guy, he can carry 270 on his frame and be ok it is abouth the equavilant of a guy being 6'4" 240ish

It's Rob Ryan buddy's kid, and they will blitz more with Hall at the other corner and Huff moving to Free Safety. Thomas Howard is one of the fastest LB's in the league I expect 10+ sacks from kim this year.

Haha. I did say buddy. Also dont say you know they will blitz more. We have played man to man for the past three years. Ryan has said himself that he does not like to blitz. He likes to use linebackers and safeties as run support only. Now which is weird cause we have been in the bottom in the league in the running game for the past few years. Plain and simple Ryan is horrible. Kiffin was right to try to run him out of town. But Al likes the guy cause of his last name and the way he looks.

"Russell Has A Big Arm" SO WHAT?

So did Ryan Leaf, they're both dumber than a box of rocks. Al's boys 6-10 @ best! I don't give a shit where #4 goes as long as it's not to the Vikes. Actually Jets may be a good fit.

I'm not sure I ever said Cutler is a top 5 QB (although not 100%, I might have,), but what I meant to say is Cutler will end the year as a top 5 QB, and he will. He is such a better QB than Russell it's not even fair. This isn't all just being a homer either because I don't think he is the best QB prospect in the league, Brady Quinn is (the guy Oakland should have drafted).

It's pretty funny that people forget that Russell was a borderline 1st round pick until he tore apart the ND defense in the BCS bowl game to end his college career. That was an absolutely terrible defense, but because he threw all over them the absolutely soared up on everyone's draft board. He isn't accurate enough, he's not a good decision maker, turns the ball over too often, doesn't make reads fast enough and from I remember I don't think he's ever done great against a team with equal or greater talent. He had stars all around him in college to make him look good, which isn't the case anymore. He's Byron Leftwich with a stronger arm. Brady Quinn will win MVP awards, and they missed out big on him.

This is all just my opinion of coarse, but the Raiders draft worse than every other team in the league. The two guys I personally wouldn't have touched at all in the past two drafts the Raiders end up taking in the top 5 both years in Russell and McFadden. We'll see how it turns out, but I think the best this team can hope for this year is 9-7. I would be amazed and give them their props if they could win 9 games this year, because that would be pretty shocking, and then you see fans predicting that they could win 12 if they get Favre, who isn't even that good at this point in his career (yes I remember last year, but do you remember the four years before that..).

If you Raider fans are really this confident in your team that a 7-9 year would be disappointing then you can all become very rich because right now they are listed at 6.5 wins and you get +140 juice to take the over (only way they can get people to bet that I guess).

My question remains the same to both of otk and silver 7. What are you basing your opinions of him on. Is it his two years of college or his three games in the pros.

Jamarcus runs a 4.65 40 faster than Cutler or Quinn and about twice as fast as leftwicth. strongest arm in the league by far, he is a superstar in waiting. Cutler has not had a winning season since high school that is crazy.

In 3-5 years, you will see Jamarcus Russell on NFL Network's Top 10 show replacing Ryan Leaf as #1 biggest draft bust of all time.

Vikes fan? You guys are funny.

Like you wouldn't take Favre over T Jackson? You guys would give up your first born for Favre over Jackson. To say you wouldn't is disingenuous as hell.

Like he's not good enough to put on the hallowed, manly purple??? LOL
