There is one simple question...
Can the Eagles scored 27-28 points in this game? They will need to to come close. Everyone talkas about the Eagels defense. What offensive juggernauts ahve they played this year?
Pats played some pretty high powered offences this year and shut them downeasilly.
That Pitt game to me was a joke. It was like NE let them score just to keep it interesting...
Remeber when Pitt made it 24-31 everyone thought thwey were back in the game? NE marched down with one of those back breakers and scored again. They were toying with that team pretty much.
Granted, getting up huge can break a team menatally, but NE made it look like Pitt was fighting back in that game. They were throwing the ball and not trying to run out the clock. And when they did run the plays were so obvious that anyone could have figured it out.
That was one of the few games I watched from start to finish all year, and it was no contest.
Injury or not, NE dominated that game, just like they dominated teams all year long.
They have scored 27 or more points in over half their games. Some of those games they could have really run it up. They have a very underrated offence, and with Weis leaving he has thrown the book at teams. What about all these 50+ yard pass plays NE is throwing lately. Or the reverses or the stunt plays? I saw stuff in the Pitt game I have never seen NE do (when it was a game) then they went back to the scripted stuff and Pitt did what I mentioned earlier. But then NE went to the good stuff and scored a couple more times.
You can make all the excuses and all the stuff you want. NE is basically fooling around with most of these teams. Even Indy. THAT one I admit was alittle tainted, but they still kept them far far away from scoring. With a 'depleted' secondary, and 'guys who don't stand a chance against that type of talent".
Lets also not forget NE beat Pitt IN Pittsburgh, not only beat them, but EMBARRASSED them. THAT win holds alot more weight than Phi playing against a sub 500 team at home, then a one man (dome) team with a new system and a rookie head coach. That win over Atl was akin to NE's win over Indy. Excpet Indy has more than one player on that team.
