2* Oklahoma Sooners -7 -110

I like Oklahoma in this spot here.

Texas Tech is as impressive of an offensive team that there is in the country. But look at the things OK has going for them to stop this attack:

1. Bye week (2 weeks to prepare for this spread attack) I know Tech had a bye week too, but their game is all offense and the bye week does not work in their favor here. A hot offense needs to keep rolling, not sit around for 2 weeks. Oklahoma meanwhile has had additional time to try and crack this spread attack.
2. Home game/night game - Hostile road environment making it difficult to call audibles, maintain composure, etc vs. a jacked up defense.
3. An Oklahoma team with a QB like Sam Bradford and a very balanced offense that can go score for score.
4. A mistake-free Oklahoma team that will not turn the ball over, make mistakes, give Tech short fields, etc. They are #1 in the country in turnover margin, #3 in most sacks, and #9 in tackles for a loss.....Oklahoma can and will FORCE mistakes.

Meanwhile it is OKLAHOMA, not Texas Tech, who has the #1 scoring offense in the country. They also have a head coach, Bob Stoops, who is defensive-minded and cocky and I think he wants nothing more than the challenge to be the guy who stops this Tech spread attack.

After that fluke Texas loss, Oklahoma has taken a back seat to the limelight, and have been salivating at the mouth for another chance for a title shot. Another chance at a big game. They have quietly gone about their business, not getting the publicity and media attention, while everyone talked about Texas Tech, Texas, watching all of these games week in and week out in the Big XII and Oklahoma wasnt a part of any of them. Here is their spot. It was so obvious to me that Oklahoma was the better team in that Texas game, and if Tech struggled at home vs. Texas, they are in for a much tougher time tonight in Norman.

With the home field rocking, momentum on their side, this game could snowball. I dont expect Texas Tech to crack 28 points in this game.

Oklahoma 37
Texas Tech 21
