Lol I know right.... I really like high powered offenses in small conferences, seems to cash more often than anything else, just my opinion.... I'm not on that Baylor train tho... Their spreads are always so high it scares me.
as for western Kentucky my initial thought was yeah slam that line at 16.5..... But now I'm rethinking it.... Fournette is an unstoppable force and that line just wears defenses out. W. Kentucky is a pretty good team playing well on both sides of the ball right now but are obviously highlighted by their offense..... They are playing against an SEC defense that usually sends about 4-5 guys to the NFL every year lol so we shall see how they fair. Something about that game just doesn't seem right. The public is heavy on the Hilltoppers but I'm smelling a whooping about to be laid down by the Tigers. I'm not sure I'll play that game at all
Don't let the following talk anyone off of a side cuz like the guy mentioned by bill above I do better with the weird small schools and the little conferences than I do with the Big Teams & Conferences but just to play devil's Advocate here and 'splain why I personally scratched these 2 games from my list...
(Some) Folks are messin' with WKY + that 16, 16.5 vs. LSU in Death Valley cuz its the "Sandwich" spot for LSU which in the past has proved challenging....LSU coming off a huge win over Florida with the game they really care about: Alabama.
Mind you that 'Bama game ain't till Nov. 7, two weekends away but this is Homecoming at LSU this weekend & Homecoming teams can have challenges covering and especially if the week's distractions have included all the praise for handling their business versus Florida.
WKY's great offensive numbers have been compiled versus teams that combined are 17-29 SU record and that do not feature a Defense like LSU can put on the field (allowing just 297 YPG)...
I loved this game initially but concluded that WKY's defense (#103 allowing 438 yds per game, #77 Rush DEF allowing 172 yds per game) just did not inspire enough confidence vs. LSU though I do regret not having the guts to play WKY here and I'm damn near certain I'll regret it.
On BGSU....Kent State does have the #11 Ranked Defense (for "Total Defense") is allowing 291 yd. per game and thats including having faced Marshall & Toledo....Minnesota & Illinois too so Kent State actually may not suck as much as generally believed.....they probably do suck that much but their Defensive #'s thus far this year suggest they do not.
While I personally believe that BGSU's pace will overwhelm Kent BGSU does come in here with the #109 Ranked Total defense surrendering 455.7 yards per game...
They've faced Tennesee & Memphis yeah but the rest of their schedule versus which they've amassed that very alarming 450+ yards allowed?
Akron, Massachusetts, Buffalo, Purdue and MARYLAND
Some of those teams suck so bad its hard to even find an appropriately descriptive word for it and at least one suck so bad that they have to be put in capital letters.......
To have achieved an avg. of 455 yds given up on Defense after playing a schedule comprised of those teams is alarming.
