Love Eagle Rare, but the distiller of it, Buffalo Trace, isn’t good to me for some reason.

ive never really dived into expensive drinks, just whatever got the job done while enjoying a good time. Im sure there is much better out there, but for the price, i never had an issues with it

Oh, I don’t either. The Eagle Rare is about the same in price as the Buffalo. Imo, Eagle Rare has the taste of 5-10x what it cost. I’ll take it over Van Winkle anyday, unless whoever’s buying insist, of course...

Give the Elijah Craig a try. It’s the same price as Buffalo as well, and damn good imo. I also like Clyde Mays Alabama Style, same price point as well...

Lucky me got a bottle of McKenna 10 year 100 proof, for Christmas! I'm about 20 minutes from breaking it open.

It's great to have grown kids that know your vices!

I've toured jack Daniels, Woodford and four roses. The tours are all cool and very unique. In ky you can easily knock out like 5 in an afternoon. Some of the places really hook ya up with samples so expect to be rather hammered.

Drink what you think tastes good, don’t take others word for it. Everyone’s palate is different.

Many bottles are high-priced only based on hype.

For under $40 you can be very well-served with Elijah Craig, Eagle Rare, Weller Antique, McKenna BiB, Four Roses SiB, or Makers.

Best bargain: Evan Williams BiB for $16.

Agree with JohnnyMac each to their own but:

Blantons is outstanding(Mothers Milk)
Basil Hayden solid
15 year Pappy Van Winkle as good as you can find, cause the 23 year is next to impossible and in my opinion not worth the bump up
for smoothness and price go High West Campfire or Buffalo Trace

ya 15 is the goat from all accounts...

But Blanton's SFTB is light years better than regular shelfie Blantons...2.5x the price, but worth it. (only available overseas).
And Blanton's Gold is much better as well for 2x price.
