Good close out to the week just as I dipped below even. Could have been 5-1 if the Giants didn’t blow a two run lead in the ninth. On the other hand, the Cardinals could have lost in extra innings. Eight games tomorrow, I will have 1-2 bets more then likely. I also think I’m going to make a Cy Young bet tomorrow. I haven’t made any awards bets yet.
I think we are going to see some of these guys towards the front slide back. Ragans and Lugo are on the same team. They could cannibalize each other to some degree when it comes to the voting. I also don’t think this is sustainable from Lugo. Crochet had another good start against Milwaukee on Saturday. He is piling up strikeouts and his ERA is down to 3.50. As we saw with Felix Hernandez in 2010, you don’t have to be on a good team to win the Cy Young. Analytics have come much farther since then which benefits guys like Crochet who are on bad teams. Inevitably, one or two of the guys up front are going to get injured and at least miss some time. Gerrit Cole isn’t a consideration this year. I don’t think Houck will keep it together at this level all year. At 40/1 which is available right now on FanDuel and other places, this is a bet that should age well over time.
Royals/Guardians under 7.5 (-110), 1*
Dodgers -1.5 (-115), 1*
Tough loss with the Rockies yesterday. They had Cincinnati down to their last out and gave up six runs. Still turned a unit or profit, but it could have been more. I lean Minnesota today, I just don’t have the stomach for betting against the Yankees right now. GL
Florida ML (+135), 1*
Oregon State ML (+100), 1*
Oregon State to win the series (-130), 1*
Florida to win the series (+160), 1*
Both these games are tomorrow. I bet these prices a couple days ago for the series winners. I’m not sure if they have moved since, but they should be something close to that. I think Florida has a chance to make another run this year. They can knock off Clemson who I’m not sold on. I think Oregon State is better then Kentucky and bettors agree. Oregon State was around +105 and now they are the betting favorite. I will have a bet or two in the MLB tomorrow.
There are a couple places that have 8 including DK. If you can only bet 7.5, that’s still a bet I like. Crochet is pitching tonight who I just bet to win Cy Young. I know Boston scored 14 last night, but that had plenty to do with Chicago’s mediocre staff. Crochet is their lone bright spot and I expect him to have another good outing tonight. He should neutralize Duran and Devers to some extent with the lefty/lefty matchup. On the other side, Criswell has been solid this season. He can certainly continue his success against the White Sox dismal lineup. GL
