To be honest, I hadn't responded to bookie's PM at EOG not because I was ignoring it, but because I was still thinking about HOW to respond.
On the one hand, the apology seemed sincere enough and I can understand a guy going through a rough time and letting his emotions get the best of him.
On the other hand, bookie's blind ignorant and hate-filled posts regarding an entire race of people seemed to extend further than just one day, which would've given him sufficient time to cool off and realize just how ignorant he was truly being.
So then the issue became how sincere the apology really was. Any Joe Blow can offer an empty apology after the fact.
As a result, I wanted to take some time to figure out how I'd respond. My initial reaction was to accept his apology and say I hope it wouldn't happen again, because I don't really interact with the guy on the forums and he hadn't been a crazy asshole like this in the past. But again, I wanted to take time to sort out all my feelings on the matter and then respond, because I'm straightforward and honest and don't say things I don't mean.
I'm certainly glad I waited to respond, as bookie's true colors have come out...again.
Oh, and as for him PMing me at SBR...that's funny. You can probably count the number of times I've visited and/or logged into that site on one hand, and I haven't been there in months. I think the last time I even visited was when someone directed me to 5 star bomb's thread about Jenn Sturger. So if he or anyone else messaged me in the past months, they've probably been waiting and will continue to wait for a while.
I also didn't realize I wasn't allowed to post or do anything at all until I responded to his PM. Sorry, next time I'll make sure I have my cable disconnected and my sportsbooks locked until I get back to you.
